Congressman Curt Weldon (R - Pennsylvania) gave another exclusive interview to Dom Giordano this evening (Monday) and broke the news that he will be giving a speech on September 8th (next Monday) during which he will present yet another 'Able Danger' witness. This new witness will attest (and will swear under oath when called) that he was "ordered to destroy records" relating to the 'Able Danger' program.
This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.
The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.
Congressman Weldon also said that his staff has met with Senator Arlen Specter's (R - Pennsylvania) staff regarding the upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings. Weldon wants to be sure that everybody is on the same page. Weldon also said that he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that ALL the facts come out and that the process "is not manipulated".
Curt Weldon is like a pit bull on a steak. He expressed disgust with the "incompetence" of the 9-11 Commission and said that the victims of the 9-11 terror attacks deserve answers. Weldon is determined to see that they get them.
Weldon did express confidence in Tim Roehmer and John Lehman and speculated that perhaps the poor job done by the Commission was the result of an incompetent staff. Weldon sounded amazed and disappointed that so much important information was either glossed over or swept under the rug by the Commission.
Weldon will give his September 8th speech either to the National Press Club or to a "9-11 families" group which has asked him to speak. He apparently hasn't nailed down the exact venue yet.
(For those unfamiliar with Dom Giordano, he is a very good conservative local talk show host here in the Philadelphia area, an area which includes Curt Weldon's district. Weldon comes on Dom's show often and, like this evening, sometimes breaks news.)
WOW
I'm picturing Special Prosecutor James E. Rogan. It kinda has a nice ring to it. As the Klingons say, "Revenge is a dish best served cold!"
Ummmm...no they can't. :)
I smell something stinnnnkkkyyyyyyyy ...
Sandy Burgler was stealing Able Danger's findings on BOTH Chinagate AND Al Qaeda. He wasn't just stealing Al Qaeda documents.
I gotta contribute to that guy's re-election campaign. If we had half of Congress with this attitude then nobody in the world would want to mess with us.
I have no doubt these marxist bastards did all they could to destroy this country militarily and every other way, militarily being the most essential way to bring this country down. And to actively suppress our government's response to the mortal threat of moslem terrorists must have appealed to their faux sense of speaking "truth" to "power," gilded lily-livered American leftism, hoping that the lesser classes create an image pleasing to the poisen Ivy League fundamentalist belief in their own moral superiority.
I do not for one split second believe that the Adolescent Sociopath and his co-rapist Death Eater wife could care less about more destruction wreaked upon this country. To the contrary, it must be as good as rape and co-rape to them, the vindication of their egos smothering their shriveled souls. The ultimate thrill is their calculation that their hatred for this country, and their hope for moslem violence, perfectly matches their thirst for power.
I think what you say has merit about waiting until after Labor Day...and especially when Congress is back in session.
I bet there are a lot of people that don't know that after basically calling Weldon and Schaeffer liars, that Larry DiRita finally came out and said that they should NOT be questioned about their recollections of events...
I bet a lot of people still remember the initial allegations by DiRita...but Crawford and the Hurricane is all the news now.
My thoughts to. This could have happened in the early months of the Bush admistration. Could be some left over Clintonites were getting a little nervous and decided to destroy some evidence. Of course the MSM will spin it differently.
Yeah, I think I know what you mean. This announcing a week before he is going to name names is just stupid. No matter what games he thinks he is playing or what rationalizations can be thrown out, it makes him look kooky and undermines his credibility.
While I hope he is right and exposes Clintonian corruption, this may all end up being another Klaymanesque train wreck.
bttt
If the dots were ever connected during the Clinton administration he'd have to go to war - a real war with boots on the ground. In order to avoid this Clinton treated all terrorism as a law enforcement effort as not to have to invade hostile states that aided Al Queda.
Is it so much to ask to see Bubba dragged through the streets like our guys in Mogadishu? This isn't about politics....it's about treason.
One of the witnesses said ABLE DANGER was shut down in Feb. 2001. Technically, that was early in the Bush administration, so the MSM (when they are forced to report this story) will try to portray it as a Bush administration action, as will the Demagogues Howie Dean, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, etc. HOWEVER, it becomes clear when you review what's known of the history of the program that the controvery over the results of AD grew up in 2000, not 2001, due to unnamed "Pentagon lawyers" worried about legal issues. Lurking in the background is CHINAGATE, since the lawyers were worried about info collected on possible Chinese espionage -- names of US citizens were coming up on the searches.... but that is just a smokescreen for the fact that the Clintonlites discovered that a lot of embarrassing and ILLEGAL actitivies could be brought to light by investigations following up on the results of AD searches for info on China (AD didn't only work on Al Qaeda and terrorism issues).
I'm sorry but as Harry Truman said: "the buck stops here". Bush allowed a commission to be formed that included Jamie Gorlick et al. The fix was in before the they opened the starting gates. You cannot blame the staff and you really can't blame the Dems. They were protecting their fearless leader's legacy and trying to win an election using their normal toolbox of lies and distortions. The Republicans are the ones to blame. They let it happen and I'm betting they will be the ones to shut Weldon down. Do you really think that Arlen Specter is going to help? On a cold day in Hell Specter might just do something that would hurt his Dem Comrades. Don't hold your breath.
Slade Gorton says not to look at the Man behind the curtain.
And considering it wasn't long ago we had an 8-year streak of constant scandal, that's saying something!
I've been laying pretty low on this issue, but no more.
This could well be the most scandalous affair in the history of the United States.
It is going to be very interesting to see if Gorelick is further implicated in the coverup. She should NEVER have been able to be given credentials for that commission, nor should BenVeniste...
That's right- I forgot about the nuclear secrets for campaign money. The wall would have effectively insulated them from CIA info.
I remember reading here about an early meeting that took place shortly after Bush took office of some of the (then) new State Department employees. Jamie Gorelick walked in and sat down, and one of the stunned new people whispered to the person sitting next to her, "What is SHE doing here?"
I will search the archives and see if I can dig that old story up.
