LIVE Report From Crawford (3,000 folks now and STILL COMING!)
Basil in Crawford | 8-27-05 | TxBubba

Posted on 08/27/2005 10:02:40 AM PDT by TXBubba

Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.

Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!

Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.

They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.

The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.

Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.

To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!

That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.

Old family saying, "she isn't worth the powder it would take to blow her up". You know I tell my grandchildren,it isn't worth any of your energy to hate some one, now I am coming very close to hating someone.

I heard on Fox that the police would only let the families take the name cards, not the crosses.(Probably, on the Ditch Witches condition).

Doesn't matter, it's a really terrible PR move for the left. When gieving people have to go and have their loved ones names removed from their filthy protest signs, America is going to cringe. The word on this will get out.

Why would a site called Godhatesfags.com be picketing at a soldiers funeral? You go to the site and it has a bunch of scripture quoted on the front page and a warning not to enter if you don't believe as they do.

This is wacked.

Yes Sir most of TX is L0L
The Hill country is very nice though. Crawford is just at the edge of hill country

Funny how all these things have been going to but no Pro Ditch Witch people have been arrested but some Pro Bush guy gets arrested because he won't move back where the police tell him to. Seems a little one-sided to me.

First off, it's not clear that it was a Pro Bush guy that wouldn't move off the road. Secondly, we, FR have an extremely good relationship with the local law. I think that was a county sherrif from the same department that was escort the Gold Star family members out to retrieve the crosses with their loved one's name on them.

FReep ground rules are to obey the instructions of law enforcement, even if you think they are wrong.

We need to hound all the media to ask this of her. Just as we all called FNC about the coverage, or lack or it, the same needs to be done for this question. I'm in.

Must be hard for them to have them flying around everywhere and not set them on fire.

$$$$

Isn't it interesting how the anti-US folks are feeling the heat and are now displaying American flags. And yet they continue to believe that their side is 'winning' mainstream American support. The Code Pinkos at Walter Reed last night also showed a fairly large American flag.

It is their belief that this war is "God's Punishment" against the US... Not sure why, I didn't hang around the site long enough to read the stuff.

Yes, she is going to get more of our soldiers killed, and if one of them was my son, I would stalk her to kingdom come, calling her the murderer she is.

"Martinsville, IN is NOT a good place for them to do this."

You aren't kidding!! Sending war protesters there is REALLY stupid our they are looking for trouble on purpose.

Just got home...from family function.

The main screen on AOL popped up and my heart did a leap...it was all about the protests groups in Crawford...with four of the five pictures (you click on 1-5) devoted to Pro-Bush supporters.

Their poll asks..which side do you support...and btw..their first picture that everyone sees who is a member of AOL is of a pro-Bush mom, a beautiful woman, kneeling by a cross with Casey Seehan's name on it....one hand reaching out to touch the cross...as she takes a moment to honor this young courageous American hero.

I was shocked and SO GLAD!

Back to the poll....47% SUPPORT our WAR ON TERROR AND OUR PRESIDENT!

46% do not

And the rest were undecided (that is the scariest result, imo)

this is old news...sorry...but I just got on and have over 2000 posts to read!!! And cannot WAIT!
