Supporters of U.S. Involvement in Iraq Plan Caravans to Texas

Move America Forward will be conducting the “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” caravan beginning next week. It will feature military family members who have loved ones serving in the war against terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan. The delegation will be led by Deborah Johns of Marine Moms. (Her son has served in Operation Iraqi Freedom).

Main caravan leaves from San Francisco, California on Monday, August 22nd. Other caravans will depart from around the country. If you want to be part of a caravan, email us with your name and location you will depart from and we will include in our caravan coverage so people in your area can depart with you.

Everyone arrives in Crawford, Texas for a giant “We Support Our Troops AND Their Mission” Rally on Saturday, August 27, 2005.

If you have a loved one serving in Iraq or Afghanistan and would like to join the caravan please contact Move America Forward’s Robert Dixon: Robert@MoveAmericaForward.org

That's precisely what makes this nation the Greatest on Earth. Even the stupid, selfish, war whores like her have the same rights as her brave son who gave his all, so that the rest of us may enjoy our freedom. Ain't this country great or what?

Well said, Chong...well said, indeed.

You slow cook a brisket 'til it's done--falls apart when you stick a fork in it. That's the best way I can think to describe it--but it does take several hours, so be prepared to that--and needs lots of basting with a good sauce during this time. It must be kept moist on the outside.

Well, that is what I always thought, but it looks like this one is going to be cooked for a few days!

>>You slow cook a brisket

About 35 yrs. ago used to go by a place east off N. Central that had 'rib sandwiches' ie ribs smoked/cooked so long and slow the bones were as soft as the meat, with onions on top, between two pieces of soggy Wonder Bread. Think it was called 'East Texas BBQ'. [Probly why I ended up with a bypass, but sure was good]. Have any idea how to do that?

We'll be in Denton on Friday, coming from CO. How to link up with the caravan headed to Waco on Saturday?

Bump for www.MoveAmericaForward.org

That's for the second question. Still wonder about how to do rib sandwiches.

Please help me get the word out Soldiers Angels is sponsoring my trip to Crawford,Tx for the Support Our Troops rally this coming weekend.{I'm from the Steamboat Springs,Colo. area originally} I am a nationally known artist and sculptor, best known for my large steel angels at the 911 crashsites, and Crawford has the 4th angel in honor of our Commander in Chief and his angel Laura.I am also a proud Marine mom,my only son Jensen is serving our country in Iraq,Marines 2nd LAR unit 73520,he's just 20 yrs. this year,I am so proud of him,but I also talk to God a lot! I will be speaking at the rally this weekend, and I am in charge of the candlelight vigils Sat. and Sun. eves in front of the president's angel in downtown Crawford. I am praying for at least 5,000 supporters and I welcome the support of other soldiers' moms and dads,we need to network and lean on one another.I would love to see someone do a sign that says:"Cindy, your real support group has arrived!"Blessings,Lei-Hennessy-Owen aka911angelady

I use untrimmed beef brisket.

Sear Brisket over high heat for about 30 minutes.

Remove and rub with seasoning cover with onions etc....

Wrap in foil. Cover with paper (News or Bags}. Put another layer of foil being carful to seal the foil tightly to hold in juices.

Cook fat side up for 10 to 14 hours depending on size.

I like to uncover for the last hour or so and let smoke get to to the meat while it sits in foil with juices.

Good luck!

Are any of the Caravans going to be travelling on I-20 thru Texas? I live in Odessa, TX and would love to try to alert the local media here if some of them will be though during the week. Let me know...and I'll figure out what to do to get the word out!

I love that idea -- all those that are in support of our troops AND their mission should request five minutes face to face or voice to voice with Cindy Sheehan - keep her face of the t.v. screen for awhile.

The Move America Forward website mentions your candle light vigil on the evening of Saturday August 27th. Because you are already speaking at the event all you will have to do is mention this in front of thousands and I'm sure you will get a good turnout.

Channel 10 KWTX in Texas mentions your vigil on their website:

See: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1468036/posts

"The “You Don’t Speak for Me Cindy” caravan leaves the studios of a San Francisco radio station on Monday and arrives in Crawford next Saturday to hold a rally and vigil. Move America Forward is sponsoring the rally. The rally will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. next Saturday at the Crawford Community Center. The vigil will be held at dusk in front of the sculpture, “Freedoms Angel of Steadfast Love,” which is dedicated to victims of the 9/11 attacks."

===

All of those emails over the past few days to the media folks in Texas are already starting to pay off.

God Bless you and your son for all that you are doing for our country. Thank you! There are many of us who cannot make it to Crawford this weekend, but we will certainly be with you all in spirit!!

I can't go and be with the caravan or go to Crawford, but I am so sure you would be most welcome and hailed as the hero you are. Who more appropriate to show up the Cindy Sheehans of the world, than you? That's my take on it. Good luck and God Bless, Soldier! (I would bet there will be others involved like yourself...)
