Members of CODEPINK: WOMEN FOR PEACE Begin Hunger Strike to Support Cindy Sheehan's Roadside Vigil in Crawford, Texas
Crawford, Texas--Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville, California, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004, traveled to Crawford, Texas with hundreds of anti-war activists to confront President Bush at his Crawford ranch. Sheehan wants to ask Bush, "Why did you kill my son? What did my son die for?" and demand a speedy withdrawal of troops in Iraq. During their march in the 100 degree heat, the protesters were forced into a ditch teeming with fire ants. Sheehan, who co-founded Gold Star Families for Peace, refuses to leave until the President comes out to speak with her.
Marching with Sheehan was CODEPINK co-founder Diane Wilson, along with many members of CODEPINK: WOMEN FOR PEACE, a grassroots peace and social justice movement that seeks positive social change through proactive, creative protest and non-violent direct action. Wilson, who continues to stand vigil with Sheehan, pledged that CODEPINK would join Sheehan in solidarity through a hunger strike. Members of CODEPINK are flocking to Crawford to support Sheehan's stance, and are embarking upon vigilant fasts around the globe. Ann Wright, who resigned from the U.S. Foreign Service on March 19, 2003, in disagreement with the Bush administration's decision to go to war in Iraq without the authorization of the UN Security Council, has joined Sheehan and Wilson in their roadside vigil.
In an open letter, Sheehan writes, "We would like for [President Bush] to explain this 'noble cause' to us and ask him why Jenna and Barbara are not in harm's way, if the cause is so noble." She adds, "If George is not ready to send the twins, then he should bring our troops home immediately." She asks supporters to "Bring water and hats we plan on staying until we are arrested or satisfied with the answers."

Hunger strike? Works for me.
Pathetic woman, the blood of her son is on HER hands
as she supports his killers.
Liberal Cows!
Lady, I'm sorry for your loss. Really, I am. But for you to turn this fine young man's death into your own personal look-at-me show is an abomination, if not downright blasphemous. Your son died for HIS COUNTRY. Your son died for the cause of FREEDOM. Your son died a HERO. Treat him as one, won't you?
< /end rant >
Your post was SO good, and right on target...I just had to post it again!
THIS is how she honors her son???
There were ants in the ditch? Are you sure the reporters didn't mistake the Code Pink gals for "ants"? They sure behave like ants..well,more like vultures. This is so disgusting.
And of course, the grieving mothers of fallen military don't come out like this if they aren't media hound Liberals. I will pray that this woman can see the true nature of her son's sacrifice.
AGREED!
Excellent idea.
Should try doing with out water too.
13 days sounds about right.
She is a smear on her son's legacy, a distraction from the dignity with which other families carry themselves when burdened by this loss.
I also think that she's traitorous, but I say that a lot these days.
These idiots think a parent SENDS their kids or MAKES them go to war and defend their country ? These so called children are Men and Women who stand for liberty by choice and they are not given or pressed into service by a parent or some slave owner as these pinkos seem to believe or want all to believe.....What a bunch of socialist loser cunning runt trash the codepinkos are.......doom on em all !
Code Pink has the blood of hundreds (if not thousands) of American soldiers on their hands. Their $600,000 donation to the terrorists on "the other side" buys a lot of explosives.
Code Pink killed her son.
So Cindy isn't participating in the hunger strike?
You know I would have more respect for her if she went to every mosque in her area and demanded answers from the imam on why they killed her son.
Big Time Puke Alert
Thanks for posting.
I'll never understand why anybody cares if somebody wants to be stupid and go on a hunger strike. Why do people show concern for idiots who do this. If they want to make themselves sick by not eating, good. I'd certainly never force feed them or even take them to the hospital if they got sick. Pretty childish behavior, but I'm not surprised.
No kidding. IEDs aren't exactly "I" any more, not when they're being cranked out on a factory assembly line and imported from Iran. Takes a chunk of change to keep those shipments coming in, a nice big chunk of change. I suggest you look in the mirror, Cindy. That's where you'll find your answers.
This is one sad excuse for an American. Her son signed up to defend this country. He did. He paid the ultimate price. Truly he is a son of liberty, a hero, and his name and his honor should never be forgotten. He, and many soldiers like him, died securing the freedoms found only in America. Even the freedom to go around this country blathering political bile and spitting on the sacrifices they have made. What is sad is that she, his mother, would choose to do so.
