I'm considering getting transfered from my job and moving to San Deigo or Los Angeles (where my company has offices.)
Any Freepers want to give a Jersey girl some advice?
I've never been to Ca. but I've had it with Jersey. I know there are at least five Conservatives in Califorina (thats three more than NJ)- help me out people!
yep. San Diego is very nice.. That said, I'm from Michigan.. ask anyone in the summer that lives in Michigan about Los Angeles, and they can't understand why I live out here... but --- they have 3 months of summer weather. we have 12 months of summer weather. I don't miss the slush and the gray skies. and the winter cold that hangs around until mid April (and starts in late September)---- 8 months of chilly .
Don't worry about that - rent is a relative bargain in California right now since the housing market has been pushed so far our of whack. You should be able to find a very nice place for a lot less than you would have to pay out in monthly mortgage payments.
I lived in the Los Angeles basin (Torrance, Redondo and Long Beach) from 1976 through 2002, and then moved to central California's San Joaquin valley. FReepmail me if you have any specific questions about LA. I'll be happy to answer.
DON'T move to Los Angeles - where in Los Angeles County do they have an office
San Diego is nicer, better weather,
"Out of the frying pan into the fire"
Hey! I resemble that remark! :)
Move to Orange County, it is expensive but it is the most conservative county in the state and you can take the train to Los Angeles for work.
Laz is in Georgia.
It's FAR more kick back (OC and SD) than (my perception of) NJ!!!
I had the good fortune to visit Tracy, CA 3 years ago in February. Breath-takingly beautiful, but I still don't want to live in CA..
Better to move to Alaska.. we have two actually republican partys.. well one is.. the other is for the RINOS.. We also have a democrat party.. but only Anchorage is the place for democrats.. Anchorage could use another republican.. and if democrats crawl your nape commute..
Good advice on orange county!
DC, Orange County is very expensive. North SD County is just over the line, and much less expensive (housing).
Altho, both are expensive :(
I saw you on the cover of Vanity Fair.
nice try Laz..
LOL
We got out of Jersey years ago. No suggestions about California except LEARN SPANISH. If you come to Texas, be picky. If you're not picky, LEARN SPANISH!
LOL. You'll see. For one thing, California allows you to pump your own gas!"
Correction: requires you to pump your own gas.
There's a good reason people call California the land of fruits and nuts.
If keeping a job meant that I had to live in Jersey or SoCal, I'd find a different job. No doubt about it.
Life's too short to spend it like that.
*LOL* or maybe Porterville, or maybe a trip to see where Green Acres was filmed?
hey.... we do have certain pocket that are nice. I've lived in Southern Orange County all my life (nice conservative area). If it weren't for the illegals we'd consider staying, we are seriously thinking of moving out of California - any suggestions. Everyone is invading our nice area.
