Dianne Feinstein just said that after having a private meeting with John Roberts she feels confident that he would not work towards or vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.
I couldn't help feeling from the look in her eyes that she knew something that I believe will be very disturbing to Pro-Life Americans.
This is not looking good. Ann Coulter may have had good reason to be apprehensive about this nominee.
Did anybody else see this? If you didn't there's a rerun on MSNBC at 11pm EST

oh B-o-o H-o-o
Typical Wimpy BUSH(41 AND 43) Court appointee! REMEMBER SOUTER!
Ive got plenty of differences with the president but I'm going to trust him on this one.
Oh BS. You are listening to Diane Feinstein now? I have a lot more faith in Mr. Bush than that. After getting burned by Warren Rudman and John Sununu over the Souter thing, I'd say we're in good hands with this careful administration.
where your proof that youve been sold out.
I predicted that the far right after having gone so far out on a limb would have to oppose anyone Bush nominated simply to save their own faces
Watch a video of a baby being aborted and you'll have plenty reason to "boo-hoo".
Abortion is Murder and it must be stopped.
I don't think a judge works towards overturning anything.
I think they get a choice of what is offered them, and that the court will not change Roe v. Wade until at least one other liberal is also replaced.
Thank you for adding some reason here.
Garbage in, garbage out.
It would be very easy for him to say that Roe v Wade is "the law" and, as a traditionalist, he is not into overturning law.
It could also be Feinstein doing her own best to explain why she and the Dems will stand down over Roberts rather than fight and prove they no longer have the clout to Bork a nominee.
Like Annie, I smell "Son of Souter" here but I could be all wrong about that. Such statements like Feinstein's are probably far more disquieting to the Right than they are comforting to the Left.
He is so hard core in his beleif for precedent it is maddening.
The constitution be damned if there is a precedent we must uphold it.
The liberals on the supreme court don't care about overturning precedent when it suits them like they did with the death penalty this year.
So why is it Finestine's word carries so much weight with YOU?
Just because SHE said it doesn't make it so.
The Founders would be so relieved that every American's constitutional and God-given right to abortion on demand will not be stripped away by Christian judges who see the constitution as higher law than God's....sarc
Even if Roe is overturned, it would be sent back to the states' level. And any state effectively overturning Roe will speedily drown in increased welfare payments and go bankrupt. Thus Roe in some form is here to stay, Roberts or no Roberts: the politicians can add two and two together, even if they have to count on fingers to do so.
I sure wouldn't be using that SLUT as a source.
My concern is that we have other things that are legal that are immoral to groups in our society. Adultery, gambling, birth control, and alcohol. How do we balance the moral needs of some with the rights of others?
Roe is bad law and should be overturned, but then there should be state referendums on the issue, and we should all sit down once the votes are in.
"work" to overturn Roe was a bad choice of words. But I'm telling you, Feinstein sounded pretty confident that Roberts is not of the mindset of someone who thinks Roe should be overturned.
This is the first time I've been genuinely worried about Roberts, since Bush made the announcement.
