Oh it's quite possible they screwed it up. Look at Ramzi Youssef setting his flat on fire in the Phillipines trying to build a bomb to assassinate Pope John Paul II.

Just curious, what's the difference between a regular cop and a specialist?

Specialists bring their own donuts to work.

My prayers are with the Brits.

Mine are, too. Perhaps the Mayor of London will learn that making appeasement remarks is just not the way to go.

Tony Blair and Jack Straw seem to have a tougher approach.

That's what it's going to take.

Same as difference between a regular US cop and a SWAT team guy. Don't ever think the UK police are not armed...plenty of them are.

I can believe that groups of young muslims would attempt copy-cat attacks without the benefit of skilled bomb making ability...maybe that's what happened.

That's my official guess too.

Reuters says a nail bomb exploded at the Warren St. station, which was then evacuated. The Brits have to treat the Muslims like the IRA...get serious!

It's a fizzle!

Reports for of low-order explosions only. Apparently detonators went off but main charges did not.

Reasons: 1, a "warning", or 2, bad main charges. Some of the explosives they have been using are volatile, have short "shelf life"

Possible good chance to arrest bombers.

TUBE EXPLOSION REPORTED

There have been unconfirmed reports of an explosion on the London Underground, and an incident on a bus in Hackney, East London.

There have been no reports of casualties.

Stations at Warren Street, Oval and Shepherd's Bush have been closed.

Services on the Victoria, Northern and Hammersmith & City Lines have been suspended.

Emergency servies started receiving calls just after 12.30.

At Warren Street there were reports of a nail bomb explosion. Sky's Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt said police believe this may have been the sound of detonators going off.

Victoria Line train passenger Ivan McCracken told Sky News he spoke to an Italian man who witnessed an explosion just after the train arrived at the platform.

"He told me he had seen a man carrying a rucksack which suddenly exploded. It was a minor explosion but enough to blow open his rucksack. Everyone rushed from the carriage. People evacuated very quickly. There was no panic.

"I didn't see anyone injured but there was shock and fright.

"There was a smell of smoke."

"The man who was holding the rucksack looked extremely dismayed.

Police have cordoned off the streets around Warren Street station. They said a suspect package had been reported on a Victoria Line train.

Sky reporter Mark White said authorities are "pushing everybody as far back from the station as they can".

"Police activity suggests that they are looking for somebody on the outside here."

Another eyewitness, Sosiane Mohellavi, said "Everyone panicked and people were screaming. We had to pull the alarm. I am still shaking."

Scotland Yard said emergency services have responded to an "incident" on a bus in Hackney Road, on a junction near Colombia Road, east London.

Sky News Foreign Affairs editor Tim Marshall said: "There is a bus parked there which is empty and there is nobody anywhere near it."

This does indicate that police think the bus is still dangerous.

It is two weeks to the day since bombers attacked three Tube trains and a bus in central London.

Whoever left the bombs will be on film dozens of times.

Prayer or song, Deborah had it right.
Judges 5:31
".. let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but [let] them that love him [be] as the sun when he goeth forth in his might."

If indeed the bombs were duds, Saint Micahel has been working overtime in London.

just seen a CCTV picture of the bus (i think!), there seems to be no damage.

bloke on the tube said that there was some smoke, but no more than if you burnt toast.

reports of shots fired at warren st. station discounted by chap (former police officer) talking to sky news from warren st. station.

looks like idiots. no serious damage reported, no reports of casualties. sheperds bush station is next to the BBC, if there was a large 'incident' we'd know about it by now.

Too bad Britain doesn't have a death penalty.

I can't wait for "Red Ken" remarks about how they brought this on themselves.

I wonder if the media here will try and move past this like they did the last bombing? Apparently Karl Rove was more important, maybe this time they'll try and distract america with the SCOTUS nomination.
