You missed my point my post made mention of different types of explosives I am aware of the specific detection devices currently used. These are not infallible nor can they detect chemical or biological agents. they are also not very good at detecting obscure "homegrown" compounds

If they are co-conspirators, then they will be convicted. To say "their families", even if we only mean adult members (which wasn't specified), we're taking it to a whole new level.
