Gonzales wouldnt be a great pick right now. The balance of the court is up in the air and its time to restore a more Constitutional outlook to the courts.
gonzales would work if Bader-ginsburg or Breyer retired, but Oconnor should be replaced by someone who will interpret the Constitution the way it should be.

Compton says Clement is NOT on an airplane heading to Washington. Clement is in her chambers (Louisiana). Whomever the nominee is is probably on their way to Washington, because they would be expected to be present with Bush during his statement tonight.
