There is no way to make many of these types happy. I want the most conservative person that can get nominated and confirmed 51-50 if necessary. I think that the nuclear option is going to be required to pass anyone that Bush is likely to nominate. That is the best political excuse for nominating a woman, it will be tougher for Snowe and Collins to allow a filibuster on a woman.

I think these rumors are trial baloons. One reporter hears one name from 'the inside'. Then another reporter hears another one. The idea is to keep the losing side off balance, and at the same time, to get a sample of the reaction. I don't think those names are made from whole cloth.
Don't forget an extra dash of horseradish..that's the ticket..
The President could nominate Janice Rogers Brown and we'd still have some Bush-hating people show up to complain about the 1,000 other reasons they hate the President and will vote turd party in 2008.
