ABC News Radio-10:00 CST-Bush has decided on Supreme Court nominee. Spector called to WH tonight to discuss. Expected to be "mainstream".
Is ANYONE on this thread going to point out that Specter, as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is expected to shepherd the nomination through the confirmation process? And summoning him to the WH means that he's being put on notice?
For what the nominee. If it has to be a woman, Priscilla Owens, If it has to be an Hispanic, Garza and if it isn't affirmative action I would like to see Cornyn.
Good point
Roe v Wade is horrible law, it should be not only be overturned, it should be buried 6 miles deep.
OT - Yankees in first place!
This state (SD) is ready to make it illegal tomorrow if RvW is overturned. Many more will choose the same way.
I'm hoping he is very politely BITCH slapping him about his choice, either you support my choice or the Senate Majority leader will REPLACE you.
Only a matter of time. LOL
I agree BUT many on FR have a lot of expectations based on a single issue of one kind or the other that will be dashed should we get a strict-constructionist on the court.
Well, all I have to say is ROLL TIDE!
But that has nothing to do with the Supreme Court. lol I know nothing about the Judge.
"No shirt. No shoes. No dice. Learn it. Know it. Live it."
I meant his facial features. Cross Porky Pig with a cartoon impression of W.C. Fields and you've got Rove.
Cheers!
Full Disclosure: And I don't stop with Rove. McCain is a ringer for comedian Steve Martin and the "gang of 7 turncoats" member Mike deWine bears a curious resemblance to the bad guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
True.
That means she was not blocked in committee by the jumping Jim Jeffords Dem Senate. What does that say about her?
We won tonight?
I don't know about SD but I can guarantee you there are not "many" states that will.
Souter never was a district judge -- he was on the Court of Appeals for only a few months.
Clement was a district judge (trial) for about 10 years (appointed by Bush I) and has been a court of appeals Judge for 4 years (longer than Thomas and about the same as Scalia and Bork).
