Edith Brown Clement (born in Birmingham, Alabama, April 29, 1948) is a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She was nominated to this seat on September 4, 2001, by George W. Bush, was confirmed by the Senate on November 13, 2001, and received commission on November 26, 2001

That means she was not blocked in committee by the jumping Jim Jeffords Dem Senate. What does that say about her?

It says nothing. The senate let many Justices pass in the first year because G.W.B. played on their weakness of appointing minorities, women, etc..

When the Democrats figured out his strategy, the filibusters began to layer one upon another.

The Clement nomination was paired with the Pickering nomination. I wonder how much the lack of opposition by the Dems was because they were distracted by their slanderous attacks on Judge Pickering.

...That a Federalist Society conservative who worked for *oil companies* can still be considered "mainstream."

Is Alabama not conservative enough for you?!
