NEXT TIME YOU READ A POLL CLAIMING THAT THE PRESIDENT'S JOB APPROVAL RATINGS HAVE PLUMMETED, JUST REMEMBER THIS: THE PRESIDENT COULD BE POLLING AT 20% AND STILL BE POLLING HIGHER THAN BOTH THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND OTHER REPUBLICANS [Perhaps a few of our RINOS should remember this!]!
While many pollsters have discovered this fact, few have chosen to publicize it!!!
Enter CARVILLE AND GREENBERG:
"The country is just in a foul mood," says Democratic strategist James Carville. He cites a new poll from Democracy Corps in which 56 percent of Americans say the country is headed in the wrong direction. Democracy Corps provides public opinion polling and strategic advice to Democrats. It was cofounded by Mr. Carville and Stanley Greenberg, who served as President Clinton's pollster.
THE LATEST DEMOCRACY CORPS SURVEY, CONDUCTED JUNE 20-26, FOUND THAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE "NOT DOING VERY WELL," Mr. Greenberg said at a Monitor breakfast.
Some 43 percent of voters said they had warm feelings about the Republican Party, while only 38 percent had positive feelings about Democrats. "Republicans weakened in this poll ... but it shows Democrats weakening more," Greenberg said. He attributes the decline to voters' perceptions that Democrats have "no core set of convictions or point of view."

You read correctly, Carville and Greenberg's own poll indicates that, yes, Republican job approval ratings are down (including the President's) BUT the Democrats' ratings are down MORE!!!!
POSITIVE (WARM) FEELINGS
48% (Mean 50.0%) President Bush
43% (Mean 49.8%) the Republican Party
41% (Mean 47.6%) the Republican Congress
38% (Mean 48.9%) the Democrat Party
NOTE: The President and Republicans outpoll the DIMS despite the fact that this poll grossly OVERSAMPLES DEMOCRATS and Democrat-oriented constituency groups, e.g., women, minorities, and adults over the age of 60! Keep this in mind when you read this poll's topline results:

At present, the President's job approval rating is HIGHLY correlated with the price of gasoline -- as gas prices have increased over the last 2 weeks, the President's job approval ratings have decreased slightly (among Independents). BUT WHAT TO WE CARE . . . approval ratings fluctuate; world-altering accomplishments last forever! [And, as Rush keeps reminding us, President Bush isn't running again, yet the DIMS keep attacking him as though he were; fortunately, this is providing political cover for our 2006 candidates and our eventual presidential candidate in 2008!]!
HISTORICAL BENCHMARKS: In his first term, Reagan endured TWO YEARS with his JA ratings in the high 30s/low 40s; in his second term, he endured 2 1/2 years with his JA ratings in the low 40s. In fact, at 53% (vs 55%) Reagan's average JA was lower than Clinton's; however, of the two, WHO IS REMEMBERED AS THE BETTER PRESIDENT?! 'Nuf said!
"Who's doing the Dose on the 6th?....we need to have a Birthday Party for the President..."
You're absolutely correct . . . On July 6, we must have a BIG BIRTHDAY BASH for the President's 59th Birthday . . . I was kinda' hoping he would don a KILT for the occasion, but a photo of Laura and him walking hand-in-hand in the Scottish mist works for me as well!!!
Let me jump in here:
The 'bad cold' I was first told, was actually some kind of malady which lasts for 6-8 weeks. I know several people who had it 'early on,' and I have it now. Cough, dry cough, then mucus, then dry cough, think you are over it, then it returns again.
I am in week number 8.
I (somewhat) blame the lack of an ability to access a flu shot this year, but then again, it is not 'typical flu'....
I love Rummy...great picture gallery of him. ;o)
Guy Fawkes Day?

GWB is coming to West Virginia again on the 4th. It will be his 3rd trip here on the 4th of July. First in Ripley, then in Charleston, now in Morgantown. The setting is West Virginia University's most historic building on the main campus (they have three campuses [campi?] within a few miles of one another in actuality.)
We became a 'red state' in each of the past two elections after having been a 'blue state' for more than 70 years.
I think he must be recognizing that transformation by continuing to visit us.
Now if we could just FINISH the job by getting rid of 'sheets' Byrd, but he is so entrenched.....
I just finished downloading pics of my Grandsons from their trip to Disney World :-)

Good night Dolly hope to catch you tomorrow
Will that get me a chance to win the 'top 10' award?
