Federal officials believe they have broken up an al Qaeda terror cell operating in Lodi and have arrested two men and detained two others as part of a wide-ranging investigation, authorities said Tuesday. One of the men arrested, 22-year-old Hamid Hayat, is accused in a federal criminal complaint of training in an al Qaeda camp in Pakistan to learn “how to kill Americans” and then lying to FBI agents about it. His training included explosives and weapons instruction and using photographs of President Bush as targets, court documents indicate.

Ah...the price we pay for being numero uno.

No, the price we pay for having politicians so determined to be PC that they subject us to this garbage.

Close the borders. Round and deport all illegals.

Any company/individual which uses illegals for labor? Fine them into oblivion. Repeat offenders? Confiscate the company and sell it at auction then use the proceeds to seal the borders.

What happens if Musharraf is assassinated? Or thrown out of office by a military coup? What happens if the hard line pro-Taliban powers get control of these new subs and their nuke tipped cruise missiles?

KAAABOOOMB ! merely possible or probable?

You aren't actually suggesting that world's only superpower doesn't have the guts to do the right thing are you?

Meanwhile, Bush ponders which pissant, non-threatening country in the ME to invade next while bin Laden and his minions sit comfortably in Pakistan?

And we actually wonder why others countries in the region rush to arm themselves?

Backward Islamic Talibunnies with control of three stealthy subs, armed with a total of 54 nuke-tipped cruise missles is very daunting. Of course, we have counter measures on top of counter measures on sea, land and air. But, just the same, the concept concerns me greatly.

If we don't have the gonads to march/fly into Pakistan and dig that stinking radical out of there by his scruffy neck then what the hell are we doing on this Quixotic crusade to democratize the world?

As i read all the post about this I wonder if that is why the warning on the Milk and the Food supply that just came out in the last couple of days is because of this bust. It is a know fact in the San Jose Mec after 911 one of the men worked in the Bay Area for a company don't remember who but the San Jose Merc did I story on it if I am not mistaken and where I live they have a school and a Mosque it makes me very concerned because WE STILL REFUSE TO STOP ILLEGALS FROM COMING HERE ILLEGALLY. I do realize these 2 were legal but the other 2 have violation

You are nuts.

The fly paper for the islamists is in Iraq. There are many political considerations in the manner we deal with Pakistan. We at least have a presence diplomaticaly in Pak.
We have military on their border but everyone in the game knows we can't attack Pakistan. We are pursuing the carrot on the stick policy and it is neutralizing a full breakout of the nuts in Pakistan. We are getting results and intell from the Paki's.

You can't just order them to change the entire cultural and religious order of the country overnight even under threat of a nuclear attack

What would you do different ?

Who told you that?

What makes you say that?

Willie Sutton robbed banks because "that's where the money was".

Don't you ever wish we had a commander in chief with that much common sense.

Yep. Plus, Modesto and Fresno not too, too far either. Targets of Opportunity were all around them. Are there others not aprehended yet?

But no skyscrapers...perhaps they were planning to hijack a Cessna & fly it into a water tower...

But there are hospitals and shopping malls, plus a goodly number of state and federal government offices (e.g. IRS in Fresno, for example ...).

You mean "Baladullah" & the "Gateway Charter School" near the town of Badger in Tulare County?? Was a big local story here in the Fresno/Visalia area. Sheriff's Deputy was killed up there also.
