but everyone in the game knows we can't attack Pakistan.

Who told you that?

What makes you say that?

Willie Sutton robbed banks because "that's where the money was".

Don't you ever wish we had a commander in chief with that much common sense.

Listen very carefully . . .

President Bush and his cabinet, have prosecuted this war just about as brilliantly as could have been done.
Given the small number of coalition armed forces, the politics of the left, and the international political situation being what it is.

Bombing these or any of the other savages into the stone age is a ridiculous strategy and counterproductive to the prosecution of the war.

Most likely, the first repercussion such a rash action, would be an all out war, a crashed or severely disrupted world economy and a needless and possibly catastrophic disruption to the American way of life.

On the other hand we are much better having used this war to shift our global assets away from the global locations that don't match up with currant and future Geo political problems.

We can pressure a change in the politics and culture in the middle east (where the terrorist come from)because we are close enough militarily to make those tyrants sweat.

We are getting more bang for our buck winning hearts and minds, While changing political and cultural structures over the long range.

It is your common sense I question not the Presidents.

During 1999, I was at a meeting where some ex-intel types were talking about security in the Middle East. A Clintonite State Department tool was also present (on official capacity.) So this one intel guy got into a discussion with that Foggy woman on how the State dept has been undercutting the efforts to get Osama Bin Laden by rejecting to give permission for our folks to go to Saudi Arabia and the UAE on official capacity to follow certain leads or even push the Saudi or Emirate govt to co-operate. The State tool replied - "Oh, don't you realize that they are our allies and we cannot upset them?" When pressed, she said "Osama Bin Laden is a threat to Americans overseas at worst and is not worth jeopardizing our decades old alliances with these fishing expeditions."

De'ja frickin vu...
