Bolton fails to get the 60 votes to invoke cloture. Dem filbuster is on.
Actually, I think that anti-Semites are falling into a brilliant trap of Globalists to discredit their attackers.
It seems I missed the news earlier -- when I first saw your post. In the news they did say that Reid made a commitment not to filibuster Bolton -- now I know that is what you were referring to,when you said that the Dems didn't live up to their promises.
I think they have been emboldened by how they managed to bamboozle the Republicans into stopping the filibusters on the judges.
Anyone who thinks that the Dem Senators who were party to the agreement were not following direct orders from Reid, is living in dreamland and I have bridges to sell to them. The reason the Dems set it up that way was to give cover to the rogue traitorous Republican Senators, by making it seem that both sets are "defying their party for the good of the Senate". It's making me sick, just to think about it.
Then I hope he is willing to take a loss in his next primary, because that's where he's headed if he continues stabbing Bush and Frist in the back.
I live right next door to SC and also have family who live there, and believe me, many SC Repubs are fighting mad about his capitulation to the Dems and his lap dog devotion to McCain. If he wins another term it will probably be because of votes from SC Democrats who must be deliriously happy with him right about now.
Exactly right, and it has worked according to plan. The RINO 7 will probably recieve a "Profiles in Courage " award from the MSM, even if they (the MSM) have to invent the award.
"We sure did -- I found a newer one of mine recently and it is being added to now! :) Someone saying they would vote for Hillary definitely puts them on the suspect list!..."
You better not even think of putting me on the ZOT lists.
Though I've been letting people know that I will seriously consider vote for Hitlery instead of McLame, that can not violate FR principles. I promise that he's the only condition under that consideration.
Naturally, the RATs will argue otherwise and the MSM will side with the RATs, but both sides will have a plausible cover story for their actions.
The heat will be on the weasel Republicans, except for the ones from New England, to go nuclear and they will do it unless they want this to be their last term in the Senate.
In hindsight, the agreement will have merely postponed the inevitable.
Goodness; I said nothing to indicate I didn't already know that.
I hope you're right. But I have been voting Republican for all federal offices since I became eligible to vote in 1958, and I have witnessed far too many occasions where Repubs have shown an uncanny ability to salvage a disastrous loss from an almost certain win.
I will believe we survived this latest debacle with only a relatively small loss when I see a conservative USSC Justice being sworn into office.
ROFLOL!!! You are safe!
You have the very reason I have already signed on to the Allenin2008 group -- starting work now to block from McCain from getting our nomination. McCain is not well liked in Oklahoma (understatement).
Cannot imagine a worse nightmare than Hillary versus McCain -- 3rd Party may just get my vote if that happens. In good conscience I couldn't vote for either person. My always voting for Republicans for President string would be broken by McCain but I have a hunch I would have a lot of company.
Was celebrating when the SCOTUS ruled recently that Oklahoma did not have to have open primaries -- our primaries will stay closed and as an early primary state this was a blow to McCain!
Reality is, I think no one is their own man while the POTUS. Truman and Reagan are exceptions to that statement. I am tired of the muzlum ass kissing frenzy, why give aid and comfort to the enemy? This message was approved by the,"Patriots of America Foundation." NSNR
No need to. Heretofor, the Senate had never refused to vote for a nomination, other than a judge. Remedy is crafted to suit the misconduct. E.g., McConnell pointing out that the point of order would only cover "circuit court and supreme court" judges - and why.
On a slightly divergent detail, I think codification of the remedy, if it to be codified, lies in the rules that govern executive session, and not in Rule XXII.
Mr. McCONNELL. I say to my friend from Iowa, if the majority leader does have to exercise the constitutional option and ask us to support it, it will be narrowly crafted to effect only circuit court appointments and the Supreme Court, which are, after all, the only areas where there has been a problem.

What about the military and national security, AF? What would ever possess you to even think about voting for a woman who hates the military (and is hated by most of them), treated them like dirt when she was First Lady and participated in the attempted destruction of our fighting forces by her husband?
No matter what McCain ever does otherwise, he would defend our country, and that alone makes it no contest between the two.
I will repeat. No one with a conservative bone in his or her body would ever even consider voting for a communist, America hating, coldly ambitious, law breaking liar like Hillary Clinton.
You are very right in your concerns.
Nevertheless, McLame being nominated will do this country no favors.
IMO, he can't be trusted.
But that was BB....Before Bolton!!!
Exactly like that.
That is correct. There was no need to talk about other nominations, because the DEMs weren't blocking other nominations. Well, the DEMs changed that. ;-)
If the DEMs refuse to vote on Bolton, the proposed remedy has to cover more than circuit and supreme court nominees.
Dems Hope Bolton Delay Brings Documents
From #48:
FYI..Bob Novak just reported on CNN that the decision NOT to give the secret documents to the Senators was made by John Negroponte..the director of HS.. The Dems are gonna go nuts..
