You mean you will vote for the hillary/Mcqueeg ticket instead of the Allen/Rice ticket, come onnnnnn!

Unless the Republicans give me a reason, I simply won't vote.

No it's really not a filibuster. A filibuster is when the minority "debates" 24/7 until the majority drops from exhaustion and decides to do something more productive. In this case the minority only threatened a filibuster, and the majority decided to go home for the nice long holiday weekend.

The Constitution is clear, though. The President can make appointments of ambassadors and judges with the advice and consent of the Senate.

He can also make recess appointments of any vacancy which expire at the end of the next session.

No distinction is made, and if the Founders intended the President to be able to appoint Ambassadors without the advice and consent of the Senate, they could have done so.

"Ain't that nice. AKA, whatever.
Another profound thought from a clearly intelligent source.

Ursus is off the list of freepers to take seriously............ever."

Real Southerner's know that "Ain't that nice" Ain't really nice at all, Often mistaken by Yankees as Southern civility and politeness. And it is, to certain people they otherwise find to be particularly obnoxious cretins.

I'm glad you're straightening me out on this. My brain never kicks in this early in the day. I looked at the clause, but couldn't comprehend it. LOL

I'm a Yankee, and I know that "ain't that nice" doesn't mean "ain't that nice."

Can you explain why Bush got his entire agenda passed in his first term (the first two years WITHOUT the majority in the Senate) if he is such a bad leader?

Bush let Manslaughter Kennedy craft the gigantic increase in the Education appropriation. Even Manslaughter Kennedy was astounded when Bush proposed more $$$$$$$$ down that endless filthy pit than even he wanted.

Bush also injected larger increases in various global and domestic welfare than the RATs before him. Do you call passing Marxist style budgets noble? Are you proud of Bush's budgets?

This fight is not over, and it is not lost. The RATS are using every trick and deception in the book, and they will still lose.

The RATs are in the minority, yet they WON the filibuster fight because the Republican'ts have no spine and don't care about defending the Constitution.

We will end up with many more conservatives on the bench AND on the Supreme Court. The RATS are scratching and clawing to keep it from happening, but they will not succeed.

Study history. Ruth Bader Ginsberg, about as Marxist as you get, was voted in 97-3. There are other Marxists sitting on SCOTUS today that were voted in with not ONE Republican't voting against them.

You need to reflect on your thinking here. The RATs filibsuter (SUCCESSFULLY) decent and honorable judge nominees, yet Marxists are approved by near unanimous consent by the spineless Republican'ts. With that history and pattern, it is a fantasy what you hope for.

I admire your dreaming and wishful thinking, as most of us here at FR wish the same. However, your are putting your faith behind spineless Republican'ts who choose to not fight and defend Constitutional principles.

The Republican'ts are in bed having sex with the RATs.

"I sometimes wonder who is advising President Bush on these dumb-ass decisions?"

I don't know who his advisors are....maybe CAIR?

Either way, his advisors can't be blamed...Bush is his own man who ultimately makes these decisions. If he's dumb enough to believe the rhetoric of terrorist scum then God help America, we're finished.

I have studied history, and am familiar with the facts you have stated. I just strongly disagree with your conclusions.

The Republicans play by the rules.....which is why Ginsburg was voted for. The Rats break all the rules, and lie while they're doing it. It is not weakness to behave honorably.

You say that the Republicans lost the filibuster fight, but it is a war, not just a fight, and it is not over....... and we (that is the Republicans.....not you) will win.

I will not apologize for thinking positively. I will not apologize for supporting this President and his strong leadership. And I will continue to pray for this country and it's leaders...........and I suggest you do the same.

"Bush also injected larger increases in various global and domestic welfare than the RATs before him. Do you call passing Marxist style budgets noble? Are you proud of Bush's budgets?"

While I abhor what Bush did with the 1st term budget, it did serve a purpose. It took off the table every Democrat talking point. Education, medcicare, prescription drugs, jobs. Kerry could not talk about it because what whould he say? He will raise taxes to fund these?

Bush, knowing that 9/11 hurt the country, we were in a recession and we didn't find WMD, isolated the things needed to win the 2004 election, terrorism and the economy. He did an excellent job with it.

So, we have the deficit going down, jobs are up, housing is better, the economy is good, we are capturing and killing the baddies and now Bush is getting the Conservative 2008 agenda ready, illegal immigration and social security.

Bush is playing his hand well. Unfortunately he is letting the senate look at his cards.

btw, I noticed that you conveniently omitted the War against Terrorists, the build up of our military, the tax cuts, the progress toward being coming a culture of life, and a number of other successes from your list.

You see what you want to see. And it looks to me, from what you cited, that all you care about is money.....

The source may have been wrong, but I did not misunderstand what I read.

It wasn't difficult to believe what I read, since section B of the agreement Graham signed binds the 7 mavericks to not vote for the option for the entire term of the 109th congress. There is no clause in or appendage to section B of the agreement that would release the Repub signatories from the terms when the Dems renege on their pledge not to filibuster. Which of course is what Reid has already said they will do after the 3 exceptions are allowed a floor vote.

I suspect it is because the Globalists also control the unions, which in my experience (Steelworkers selling NW aluminum workers down the river for environmentalists) pursue the larger Globalist/environmentalist objectives at the expense of their members.
