Cornyn is of presidential caliber. Given a little more seasoning, he would make an excellent candidate.

Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never--in nothing, great or small, large or petty--never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

(Will the "extraordinary" line have the name Owen, Brown or Pryor attached to it?)
To: hobbes1
So, in the end, we are further than we were yesterday, but no where we wish to be.By the end of the day we will be further behind than we were going to be. Today was supposed to be nuclear option day.
They screwed it all up, George Allen said so.

All-righty. If Owens, Brown, and Pryor aren't all confirmed for the bench, loser sends $10 to FR. Not a bad bet, considering where the $ is going, whoever loses. I'll even say that all three will get at least a couple of Dem votes on the floor.

Excuse me?? Could you be a little more specific? I called the 7 RINOS whackadoodles. I certainly didn't single out McCain.
Can you point out the post where I said anything about Frist?
Again....exactly where did I SCREAM about McCain? In the past, I've done a lot of screaming about him. I don't think I have today, yet. When I do, I'll be sure to ping you. Then you can accurately accuse me of doing it.
Have a nice day. From one American that sees compromise with dims as defeat.

The real conservatives in the senate, (Sessions, Cornyn, Allen) are NOT happy with this deal.

Major Garrett: We'll see a vote on Priscilla Owen in about an hour. Quorum call at noon. Cloture vote after that. Some amount of debate after that, 30 hours nominally, then a vote on Owen.

The President knew nothing of what was happeneing in the Senate this am...when he mentioned the judges. The Prez is about 25 miles away from me. I had two jobs in the Town where he is but rescheduled them to Thursday.
