Rush took a lot of heat for attacking McCain in 2000 -- just like he did in 1992 for attacking Ross Perot. Now we can all see just how bad McCain really is.

They do not want to play with the Constitutional Nuclear Byrd football today.

According to the left wingers in the Senate, they won't have to touch the Constitutional Option anytime soon as it is off the table for this congress. Each side seems to be reading the agreement differently and they seem as confused as many of us are. Graham said they agreed to start anew however that's left to so many different interpretations. If filibuster is to be considered, one of the 7 on the other side is going to have to convince the 7 RINO's why they feel the need is necessary, so says Graham. If he and others do not agree, than his impression is they will exercise their option to go nuclear. Listening to Kennedy/Reid, they will continue to filibuster as that is their right. Go figure.

Sorry, I feel no cheer. The president's authority was taken in a coup by a minority of four with the majority tossed overboard. This same group will now dicate who sits on the court, what legislation is passed and the rest of us are expected to just take it.

I feel no joy at a vote we should ahve been guarenteed, since we should ahve been guarenteed ALL.

The deal expressly had the 7 dem signatories agreeing to invoke cloture on the three judges which right then signalled the end of the filibuster for their nominations.

Is this a way to seperate the wheat from the chaff? For us to know who is against and for the nomination?

Recess.

Thank you for the synopsis of Rush. I will avoid listening to him today.

It does no good when we have radio people who cannot hold their fire until we see how this plays out.

Cloture just passes 81-15. Priscilla Owens will get an up or down vote. Rush isn't paying attention.

if extraordinary circumstances are described about people like Miguel Estrada, then this agreement will mean very little.

They will invoke the "extraordinary circumstances" clause whenever ANY juducial nominee isn't liberal enough to suit them.

Well. That was anticlimatic. Passed with 81-18 vote.

And, the nuclear option is still on the table. ;-)

Dirty SOB's are going to force the issue!

Doubt it. They are just playing to their left wing base. As long as enough still vote aye, cloture will pass, but those who voted no can wave the "no" vote like a bloody shirt.
