But how solid a deal is it really? If the Dems start a filibuster and the GOP interprets it to not be 'extraordinary circumstances', the agreement seems to read that the GOP is no longer committed to not changing the Senate rules.

Has anyone given any thought to what would have happened if Frist pressed the nuclear button and we didn't have the votes?

It isn't a total victory, but this is nowhere near the defeat some people here are characterizing it as. After a few deep breaths (and a cigar), that's how I'm seeing it.

If they hate it (DU) then it must be good for us.
Time alone.....will tell!

If that is the case, then I expect Bush to work the phones all night tonight and dissuade his party members from taking this deal. Right?

I know what Graham's problem is.
His fear is more about himself than the result of overturning this little rule.

"How does he plan to run for president without us?"
Third party?
Of course, he better watch his back. He's the only politician that the MSM adores more than Hillary. She's not going to like sharing the adulation.

Oops. You are right. That sentence makes it a republican cave.

You can kiss Frist goodbye, too! I'm tired of gutless RINOS country club republicans. Might as well swear in Hillary. At least we know what we got!
