When the American flag is burned oversees - we yawn, if we hear about it at all. When Christianity is mocked and blasphemed by the networks, we write letters to the editors. When the Bible is defamed - it's all free speech.

btw - thanks Newsweek for the necessary excuse allowing Muslims to let more blood.

But the magazine, while acknowledging unspecified errors in the article, stopped short of retracting it.

Kinda like acknowledging forgeries but insisting they are true, huh?

The apology is not to America. We were the one libeled, after all. Newsweek like the rest of the legacy media is all too willing to let its contempt for our country and hatred for the Bush Administration get in the way of a good story. No matter whether or not it hurts America.

I'd cancel my subscription, but since I can't imagine an otherwise functioning adult actually subscribing, I can't cancel it.

ewsweek apologized yesterday for printing a small item

Shouting "fire" in a crowded theater is not a small thing, even though "fire" is merely four letters long.

Anyone know what the Newsweek death toll is up to so far?

In addition, the reporters, Michael Isikoff, a veteran investigative reporter, and John Barry, a national security correspondent, showed a draft of the article to the source and to a senior Pentagon official asking if it was correct. The source corrected one aspect of the article, which focused on the Southern Command's internal report on prisoner abuse.

That's some admission. Not only is Newsweek using unnamed sources to create stories, but Newsweek is also using unnamed sources to perform editorial responsibilities.

We need to know who that traitor is.

Or as Emily LaTilda (Gilda Radner from SNL fame) would say, "never mind."

They knew the report was bogus, so they printed it anyway. I for one didn't think the report was credible to begin with, and I was barely following this story.

Isikoff, Whitaker, and Evan Thomas need to be fired and go to Afghanistan and beg for the forgiveness from the American troops staioned there.

The Newsweek punks have missed the whole point. Even if this story IS actually true, they still should not print it because it would be a small isolated incident within the 1.2 million people who serve in the US Military. The Newsweek punks have to learn to be responsible and not print or publicly discuss certain isolated incidents that are damaging to America and/or could lead to retaliation against Americans. The Newsweek punks are so eager to discredit the Bush Administration and the US Military that they never consider the consequences of what they print in their trashy magazine. The are like bratty kids in their lack of responsbility and complete lack of professionalism.

Monica-Gate Refresher Course:

Michael Isikoff at Newsweek was the one who sat on and covered up the Monica Lewinski story that they had researched and written well before Matt Drudge dropped the bombshell and made the Clintonista MSM suddenly play catch-up because they were caught pimping for Slick Willie.

But, Mr. Whitaker said in an interview later, "We're not retracting anything. We don't know for certain what we got wrong."

I know whats wrong. You exist. Hopefully not long.

There are bunches of stories about the Koran being accidently burned or whatever and then the idiots go out and kill a goup of Christians or other Moslems or whoever some Imam points them to. What a bunch of tools.

When the Newsweak story first appeared in FR, I expressed doubt that it couldl possibly be true, because there's no way on earth that you could flush a Koran down a toilet without having to call in a plumber to fix it. The whole idea was extremely improbable on its face.

Prisoners sometimes deliberately plug up toilets. Guards or interrogators don't. They'd be fired if they tried it.

Over the years my kids have tried to flush some pretty strange things down the toilet. One time they produced a flood that required extensive repairs to the library ceiling. Grownups know better

One thing I remember about anti-terrorist training (for the sheep, not the "Counter" terrorist training like US Navy SEAL receives) is "NEVER lie to a terrorist!" The consequences of being caught in a lie by anyone so cruel (not just terrorists) could mean an instant death sentence and a very brutal execution.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7857407/site/newsweek/

Newsweek essentially says, "Oops. We were wrong about US Forces desecrating the Koran. We're sorry now for our inaccuracy as it's caused the death and injury of many lives."

I did see "Kingdom of Heaven". I recommend the film since it was superbly executed, well acted, and has fantastic fight sequences, and special effects. However, there should be a reaction among today's Freemasons to clarify the truth about the Knights Templar. Today's Templar aren't a Catholic Order, but rather a mens' secret handshake club that I'm not allowed to join (in pain of mortal sin).

If Muslims are keen to listening to Western propaganda and entertainment, then these Freemasons may want to clear up some of the movies inaccuracies...before the Muslim reaction feels the need to exact revenge for the sake of historical justice. But maybe mayhem is what Ridley Scott intended all along?

If I really didn't care about the souls of either Muslims or Freemasons and the lie that would lead to their slaughtering of both by each other, then I might remain silent. But then that wouldn't make me a good Catholic Christian now, would it?
