They wouldn't have cut it if Labour had won a smashing victory. As it is, they have decided o go with something they think no one could complain about (like it couldn't have been shown later in the weekend).

I'm not sure I am happy with the way this is going. I don't particularly like Blair's domestic agenda, but I hate seeing him get hamstrung after his steadfastness. And I forget who was on the thread earlier saying that the Tories weren't really increasing their vote share, and I have to say that I see the same thing. I'm almost afraid this is the worst of all outcomes. A diminished Blair in power, the conservatives thinking they did better than they did, and the far left surging.

Isn't China and Iran interested in the Land Rover?

Don't know. I wouldn't be surprised at China.

My daughter-in-law just told me that on the phone. I haven't been watching as I feel like I am a Jonah when rooting for a team. (I am just south of Indy, so you can guess my feelings.)

I really don't think that's what's happening here. There was no way Labour was going to win a smashing victory, for one. This result is way more interesting that even a middling Labour loss, and the anti-war people can take pleasure in LD picking up seats in the cities from Labour, so I don't think you can construct a bias explanation. C-SPAN has their schedule and they keep to it. I don't think they expect many Americans to care that much about British elections.

But right on the heels of holding two 'battleground' seats, they lose an unexpected one in Leeds North West.

Labour at last year's Labour Conference many of the MPs were wearing Kerry/Edwards buttons

Then Labor needs to remember that saying, 'Be careful what you wish for'. Looks like it has come full circle on them. They supported sKerry, he lost. sKerry supported Labor, they lost. Does the word irony fit this situation?

Looks like the Tories just missed picking up a second Welsh seat in Cardiff North -- which would have been more significant than the semi-Welsh Monmouth.

The different sides rent a hall or fill a bar & wait for the election returns. When it looks like a winner has been determined the loser calls & concedes.
