LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS, APRIL 27. Lexington parent, David Parker, was arrested today by the Lexington Police for trespassing at his sons elementary school during a scheduled meeting with the principal and the citys Director of Education over his objections to homosexual curriculum materials and discussions in his sons kindergarten class.
At the meeting, Parker demanded that the school inform him when homosexual subjects are to be discussed with his son, and allow his son not to be included in such activities. He said he would not leave until his request was granted. The Principal and the citys Director of Education both refused his request. They then telephoned the Superintendent of Schools who also refused. Police were called, who told Parker that unless he left the school he would be arrested.
Statement by David Parker(April 27, 2005):
I, David Parker, am the father of a kindergarten student at Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington, Massachusetts. Since the beginning of this school year, my wife and I have learned that school materials and discussions about gay-headed households/same-sex union issues have been exposed to the children. There are definitive plans to increase the teacher/staff/adult mediated discussions of these subjects.
We have officially stated on many occasionsto the Lexington school administrationa request that we be notified when these discussions are planned, and want our 6-year-old opted out of such situations when arising spontaneously.
Our parental requests for our own child were flat-out denied with no effort at accommodation. In our meeting on April 27, I, insisted that such accommodation be made and refused to leave the meeting room. I was informed that I would be arrested.
Parker will be arraigned on Thursday, April 28, in Concord District Court at 9 am. This is an unbelievable outrage, said Brian Camenker, a friend and Newton, Mass. parent. Its where last years same-sex marriage ruling has brought us.

He was arrested to get rid of him. Since when doesn't a parent with a child in school have a right to be at that school? Gosh, I hope they find a really good lawyer. By the way, where is the ACLU on this? This makes me so very angry!
First off, it seems to be a violation of his First Amendment Right on religious grounds. Maybe he should sue these Administrators for Civil Rights violations, both in public and private capacity?
Someone forgot to take his soma.
OH, BRAVE NEW WORLD! THAT HAS SUCH PEOPLE IN IT!.............
The Communist People's Directorate of Taxachusetts. Homoville!
There is something to be said for HOME SCHOOLING.
I am teaching a college class now in which I have one student who is the best: listens, responds, shows a sense of humor, comes to class, is friendly, polite, and at ease. What do I learn just recently? He is home-schooled.
Whenever you hear the worry that "home-schooled children may not get proper socialization," think twice. All the home-schooled kids I have known are better socialized than the average, because they are accustomed to associating with people of different ages. They usually play with other kids, and they actually have enjoyed more free time. They have learned from people they know, in a familiar environment. They excel in social skills even more than at academics. They impress me as being normal, happy people. They have parents who really care enough to put in their own time and effort on their children's welfare. The children get the message that education counts, because it is what their parents do for them.
There may be exceptions, but I think that home-schooling is a good system, if you can manage the sacrifices it requires.
Of course, being home-schooled is an evidence of unusual interest on the part of your parents. The parents of home-schoolers are not the average: they are strongly motivated and dedicated. It is clearly possible to be like that, and (for any parents reading this), you could be that way, too.
The best way to get into home-schooling is to form a group with other home-schooling parents. It is not an anti-social endeavor, but just the opposite: a socially superior way of teaching, and of raising children
Give it some thought!
But you have to realize this is PUBLIC school and a PUBLIC school does not discriminate against students who might have homosexual parents, single parents, step-parents, remarried parents, etc.
If you are going to involve heteronormative stories in school children's readings, it's only fair and sensible to include alternative home situations.
It's PUBLIC school.
HA!!
Or for that matter a crock of hot tar, *lots* of feathers & a stiff rail.
Not to worry.
If this abomonation continues to be pushed upon the majority, it might just come to any one or combination of those "remedies".
Or worse.
As their *hero* once said.
..."Sooner rather than later, more rather than less."
I always keep up with what's being taught in school. I have meetings with my all daughters' teachers at the beginning of the year and make it very plain what I believe to be the purview of 'education'. I also go over the curriculum so I'm not caught by surprise over what they'll be covering during the year.
Anytime there is something coming up that I disagree with, I write a letter to the school and have it delivered by my daughters. This is hand delivery, and considered legal notice.
Recently, I had the girls given alternate assignments because the *Fair* that the teachers had dreamed up was:
1. a monumental waste of classroom time, and
2. classroom time was being used to generate revenue for the school.
They were quite polite in issuing the alternate assignments.
There is also the option of sending a letter via certified mail, return receipt requested. Send it that way and state in the letter *This letter serves as legal notice*, the school is then LEGALLY notified of your concerns.
You can also find a NOTICE AND DECLARATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS, which can be hand delivered or send certified mail.
If something comes up between the parent and the school, DO NOT discuss it in ANY manner other than writing. (you can specify >contact me only via USPS< in your letter)
Verbal communications are NOT legally binding, and if you *take their word for it*, you won't have a legal leg to stand on.
well, sure! ...as long as you're not a Catholic priest.
I could be wrong, but I don't think public schools were around yet, in the late 1700's. But your point is well taken. Parents then were alot wiser.
Heck, there wasn't even Sunday School. Little Johnny and Mary (and Martha and Samuel and Joseph and Abigail and Joshua and Rebecca) went to church with Mom and Dad, and sat in church with Mom and Dad.
My buddy does this with his SEVEN kids. They are far and away the most well behaved kids of any age in that church. They also have a deeper understanding of spiritual matters than most kids their age.
Your "facts" - that the incident was about trespassing - would be more "misleading". They would hide the real story - which IS ABOUT HOMOSEXUAL CURRICULUM. It seems that decades of MSM indoctrination has left it residual effects: Even after alternate media has opened discussion to previously excluded subjects, many still can't process the information honestly.
Really?
I've always hated whats Left of this great Nation.
(And I've always loved whats Right!)
I believe this Superintendent of Schools should be fired and replaced by Michael Jackson. Then the parents can have all their children invited to Neverland! It would be a fitting reward to the residents of Taxachusetts!
Are you not aware that Sex-Ed begins in kindergarten and runs through all grades to graduation?
This has been mandated for years now....
...This new addition to the curriculum is just their next step.
