Prayers for TexasCowboy!

TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.

Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.

So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.

Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!

Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.

Joe and Frank were in the office, and noticed that someone had put up a suggestion box with some 3x5 cards next to it. Both decided that this was a great idea, and each took a card to fill out.

Joe wrote, "The office workers should all be given raises!"

When he looked at Frank's card, it read: "Can we all have raises, and keys to the executive washroom, and personal secretaries, and new company cars, and new coffee cups, and longer lunch breaks, and an extra three weeks vacation each year, and a holiday on St. Patrick's Day, and Columbus Day and Martin Luther King's Birthday?"

I try to be nice and what do I get? Disrespected. Hmmpf.

Besides, Marines are allowed to cry, but only happy tears of joy, or tears of thanksgiving. Like when a child is born, is saved (both meanings), recovers from a serious illness, gets married or has you a grandchild.

Those are the sort of tears I had in mind.

One things Marines are not supposed to do is to show disrespect to superior officers, at least not where they can see you do it. :)

I sorta owe the Marines something like that anyway. I once got chewed out by a Marine major for not saluting him. However, we were on an Air Force base, and under Air Force (and Army) customs and courtesies a salute was not required or allowed under the circumstances. That's what happens when you are part of the Squid department and accept their distorted notions of proper military courtesy. :)

So good to hear from you. I know your struggle is hard, but you seem to be doing the best anyone could under the circumstances. So glad to hear you'll soon be walking with only one cane. Always amazed at you Texans...full of "piss and vinegar." When you get rid of the one crutch, I get the first dance!

Good to see your report. I'll bet it feels wonderful just to stand upright even for a moment. God is answering so many prayers for you and I continue my prayers that your healing is ongoing. Prayers that the cancer is killed completely and you finally get to be rid of the exhaustion. Just take it one day at a time. God bless you and your family!

I'm looking forward to when she becomes a little girl, instead of a mouth at one end and a dirty and/or wet diaper at the other. :) She is starting to show quite an interest in the world outside of eating and sleeping though. She particularly likes chandeliers and other shiny objects.
