Shep lacks the one trait of a good broadcaster..knowing when to shut up. I can remember Huntley and Brinkley when JFK was assasinated...they were perfect..

I have actually thought Shep has said some really good things about the Pope and his life. I obviously have a different perspective.

Okay, maybe I was a bit hasty. I was trying to catch up to the rapid postings and watching TV at the same time. The only place I saw saying the Pope had died was here on FR. I did not know there was an error in the media, because I did not see one. I am therefore guilty of the same offense that I was criticizing.

I feel like a hypocrite. I apologise for my prejudgment.

The posting of comments in a shoot-from-the-hip fashion is conducive to error. We ought to be more circumspect. Error is not a good place to be in.

Just heard on radio:
Vatican says he is alive, though has no hope for recovery.

Let us pray for a peaceful passing.

I have announced twice at work that the Pope has passed away and now everyone just sorta looks at me funny....

Hopefully, you won't end up like the boy who cried wolf at work. I'm so glad that my daughter's friend wasn't at home. She's 14 years old and she would have been very upset.

Shep is an idiot and unwatchable. Horror of horrors, I actually had to switch my video tape to CNN (gasp) because I just couldn't stomach the audio I'm listening to on this.

Fox should can the guy, before they lose any shred of credibility that they once had.

FOX News has recanted their report. Title changed on thread now.

They were premature. Italian News was reporting it incorrectly.

Prayers for the Pope.

This is the one week where Continental Europe is 7 hours ahead of the East Coast.
