The greatest Pole ever has gone to be with the Lord. That's arguably true, that Karol Wojtytla was the greatest Pole ever. Of course, you have to argue past Jan Sobieski, who led the defense of Vienna against Kara Mustafa and the Turks in 1683 and so prevented a wholesale Turkish invasion of Europe. And Casimir the Great. Chopin. Copernicus. There are a few giants. He may be the tallest among them. Hard to say at this time. History will say one day.

looks like no-one picked up Italian media reports in this manner apart from Fox. Most other networks urged caution and said let's wait for the official announcement. This is just absolutely awful and disgraceful.

Time-Life, no doubt, has the coffee-table photo biography ready to go off the presses.

That would make one heck of a lousy April Fool's joke. Fox said he had died; now they're saying he's still alive. A bad joke indeed.

I'll also bet the Pope would forgive him with an impish grin and a wink.I'd say you're right. Did you see the special On John Paul II last Sunday that Newt hosted? If was good.

Do you suppose the Holy Father would forgive me for involuntarily flashing back to a Monty Python skit?
"I'm not not dead yet..."
That is pathetic.....

Fox News is going to have a little egg on their collective faces.
I don't think there's much doubt the end is near. But after Shep apologized for the open mike situation, maybe he should've said "we haven't confirmed that" instead of saying "sorry the news came in that way."

How are we sharks by letting people know what we thought was accurate? I certainly did not intend to post false information. This was confirmed by Fox news and then refuted by them just minutes later. Their faulty reporting is not our fault.
