Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.

HOw do you explain the woman who recently woke out of her coma after 20 years?

Was she just taking an extended nap or what?

Does the Constitution list 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' as inalienable rights?

What is wrong with erring on the side of life?
Are you a poor judge of character or what?

Liberal democrats have no ability to think but no one is advocating that they are killed by starvation and dehydration.

Don't defend something that is wrong. Dehydrating and starving to death an innocent disabled person is wrong and indefensible. Starving someone to death is absolutely unacceptible.

Someone needs to send bottles of water for Friday delivery to all judges involved. Pontius Pilate would be proud.

Quick, what's en banc?

right now only 3 appellate judges are considering the appeal, if that doesn't work the parents can appeal this time en banc (allowing the full court, all 11 judges to consider appeal)

You state what you want for yourself and you can't imagine that someone else wouldn't want the exact same thing that you do.

That is the problem with this case. People who can't imagine living with pain, or not having their full functions can not understand why anyone else would want to go on living. So they over look all the evidence that speaks to the fact that Terri's husband if a rat who is trying to get away with murdering her.

No, they want her to die.

When it came to liberal Christopher Reeves, sky was the limit - get those embryonic stem cells. Experiment for Reeves to make HIM better (LOL). But of course it should financed by the government. There is NO law that doesn't allow this to be done by PRIVATE industry and it goes on. No, they want TAX PAYERS to PAY for their ridiculous EMBRYONIX stem cell research.

That's an interesting theory. If Michael is indeed a cold-blooded coniving slow killer, that would make perfect sense.

yep, makes perfect sense.

I thought Terri was in a PVS? Do you believe Nancy would have kept her husband in an interminable PVS for 10 years? It just seems cruel to me.

No, Terri's higher functioning than PVS and yes, I believe Nancy Reagan would have done the same thing regardless. IMO, you don't off your loved ones. Period.

I would never remove a loved one's feeding tube.

I guess my only concern (a pretty big one) is the testimony by Michael and (Terri's?) sisters that claimed Terri told them she would never have liked to live like this.

Oh...???

Did MS really say that?

Read on then, a sworn statement from one of MS's girlfriends.

"Regarding that alleged conversation [in which Terri supposedly said she would want to die in such a situation] -- Cindy Shook said that Michael Schiavo said:

"How the hell should I know, we never spoke about this, my God I was only 25 years old. How the hell should I know? We were young. We never spoke of this."

To me, this is the "gist" of the whole thing that sadly the MSM IS NOT SAYING, which if they did would surely turn opinion bigtime.

If the congress and republicans weren't a huge part of this, the MSM would be reporting it...even to this day they are not over the fact that they lost the election, and hate Bush so much that I think they are even using this case as something to get back at the republicans

Um, hate to interrupt the festivities, but it's already gotten underway. Now there are links to notify them that it's happening and why. They could pass it on those whose ears they can bend.

Not everyone grasps that the issues surrounding Terri aren't going to end immediately, regardless of Terri's fate. Those who do, understand the rationale for this perfectly.

The only way anyone can be certain it's ineffectual is to not try it. Right? If you don't want to, fine by me. There's lots of additional things that can be done to help.

I can see now that we're going to have to be that explicit ... and that you do have to have a medical surrogate completely in tune with your wishes to fight for your and enforce your wishes

Also, redundancy is important. My mother has given me (I'm only living relative): full power of attorney, medical power of attorney, executorship of her estate, plus she has a living will AND a medical directive (similar to a DNR). Additionally, there are clauses in place should she and I die or be incapacitated together (say a car or plane crash) for my husband (soon to be lawyer) to take over, after him, she has designated a close family friend. Also, we she has informed us verbally of her wishes and we all discussed how we felt about being put in that situation. The moral is, YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO PREPARED. Especially when slimy lawyers and politicans are involved.

I agree they jump on anything to get back, a day or so ago there was the phony "memo".
Sure haven't heard anything about the memo today, cuz it had nobody's heading on it from someone's office, common to memo's.
It was only a blank paper.
I am positive it was "placed" to make pubbies look bad.
Laughable attempt, eh?

I don't recall the dates the electrodes were put in, but I believe the x-rays showing broken bones were taken about 51 weeks after her 'attack', and the bones had mostly healed by then.

IF the electrodes were put in, lets say at week 40 or earlier, then I'd predict her broken bones came from the electrodes being used as a type of electro-shock to fry the portion of her brain where memories are contained.

I just did a google for "Electro shock" and "broken bones" and apparently it is VERY common to have broken bones during electro shock, due to violent contortions if the patient is not restrained properly.

I therefore suggest the REAL reason for the electrodes was to give her an "ELECTRICAL LABOTOMY" to guarantee she couldn't remember her beating and strangulation the morning of Feb 25th 1990, and also to satisfy the court's definition of PVS.

If Terri dies, an autopsy is absolutely critical!!! Not only for forensic examination of the broken bones, but to see if the tissue around the electrodes shows it was burned off.
