Amen to that.
When the he77 will this country wake up to what the Left is doing? A woman is arrested for trying to give water to someone who is dying of thirst?
Talk about a need for "living water."

It would be better than starving to death. Yes. And, I guess dying in the world trade center is better than getting eaten by red ants. But the premise is what's at fault.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what she was arrested for.

They know they can't succeed, but it's an act of civil disobedience.
Once the local jails fill up with enough people carrying a bottle of water, eventually the woman will be given nourishment. The only question is whether there are any more people like this woman, or like Henry David Thoreau, willing to be personally inconvenienced for the principle of obeying one's conscience above any merely human law.

Where are the priests and bishops? A good question. Some of them are there, and a few bishops have spoken out on this, even going against one of their own (Terri's own bishop, the treacherous, cowardly Lynch).
I think a big part of the silence of Church officials is due to the fact that Bishop Lynch has been lying low, has not opposed the Schiavo killing, and is a friend of Felos and everybody important in his city. I guess Lynch feels that they stood by him when a male employee sued him for sexual harassment, and when there were claims of financial wrongdoing against him, so he owes them. To me, the real disgrace is that the Vatican has not made him come out and say something or removed him if he refused.

Think about it. If they were really planning to feed her, they might have chosen something that tasted better. I think the bread and water bit was meant to be sarcastic. Think of prisoners and BREAD AND WATER! DOH!

She can not chew or swallow. She doesn't drool. Therefore she swallows her own saliva. Therefore you are wrong. Other nurses have testified that she has swallowed liquids in the past.

This case has been hashed out and every court comes to the same conclusion - right or wrong, it's her husband's decision. They can't or won't look into whether he's morally the appropriate person to make the decision, whether he's moved on or has ulterior motives. Legally, it's his decision, and that's that.
That's what's driving Freepers nuts - this is one of those times they want the courts to be activist and not follow the law.

I was going to craft a response, but i'm speechless, and that can only be because it merits none. Look, we all get stuck doing crap in the line of our jobs that we may not want to do. Cops have that much more than other folks. Sometimes it gets to be such a moral issue with them that they quit. Sometimes it doesn't.
Regardless of how these police officers feel about whether Terri should die or not, this woman (while her motivations may have been good) was clearly trespassing. Trespassers should be stopped. End of story.
