This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.
You too Betsy. It'll be a little while before my system slows down enough to let me sleep. Once I do, I think I'll sleep real well.
:-)
Does this mean that she can be TREATED medically or does "husband" (evil murder-attempting SOB Michael) have "control"?
That's regarding the CSpan caller.
I know. I understand 100%.
You don't have to... tonight... Thanks to Barney Frank, it was a roll call vote, which means WE WILL KNOW the names.
But pppllleeeaaassseee give those poor guys and gals working behind the scenes time to post this information. I don't know if the REALLY HAS ADJOURNED OR NOT.
He is usually not disturbed for such a happy occasion. May he rest well tonight.
Her flag is a work of science fiction, by L. Ron Hubbard.
What happens?
1 - Paper physically delivered to President.
2 - President signs.
3 - Simultameously, motion to federal FL court to re-insert tube.
4 - Motion denied.
5 - Law declared unconstitutional.
6 - Injunction issued to prevent enforcement.
7 - Emergency appeal made to Supreme Court.
8 - Supreme Court refuses to hear the case without comment.
9 - An exasperated President Bush sends federal marshals to save Terri in defiance of court rulings.
(Only kidding about that last one.)
That may be true, but her husband has not even begun to prove that she's actually in a persistent vegetative state. A number of prominent neurologists have concluded that the required tests have NOT been performed to accurately diagnose her condition. The tyrannical Judge Greer refuses to order these tests, presumably because he doesn't want to admit that he screwed up this case at the beginning (or perhaps he's been bribed.)
Hehe! Thanks!
People are leaving, but I ain't sleeping until that feeding tube is re-inserted.
Marbury v. Madison is a neat case though. The court determined that it was powerless to grant the relief requested. That's right. It said it could only interpret law ("say what the law is"), and could not make law.
WOW .. I thought I was wound tight tonight
are you listening to Chris Matthews ..
I don't think I've heard him talk so fast before *L*
Was Susan Pestrogen tipsy sometimes on air during the election coverage?
I believe the final was 5 RINO votes...bastards - the lot of them!!!! I never thought I'd see this day in America where we had to fight to keep an innocent woman alive. I'm just sick over this whole thing.
Since this bill passed tonight and the President returned to D.C. in order to sign it in the middle of the night, I would bet they have judge shopped and the judges will be on our side of LIFE!
I'd like to think it's because most of their (dims) yeas are from conscience - but I feel it's probably more because of the public spotlight on them and that "W" has not only weighed in on this, but flown all the way back to DC just to sign this...The darkness cannot withstand in the face of the LIGHT
