Today we met in Fayetteville, NC to Freep a motley rabble of socialists, anarchists, Code Pink-os, and other throwbacks to the 60's! As usual, we were well outnumbered by their hordes of college students, aging hippies and other bused-in protestors, but we held our own as always.
Please post any reports and observations on this thread only.
I truly admire the uniformity of color in those last few shots.
And given the tampering with psychologic classifications since the 1970s, it is hard for sane psychologists, much less the average Jane, to prescribe a remedy in the era of "subjective relativity" (coinage for: "lifelong customers") to that which afflicts those who "walk among us" calling themselves liberals or to apply a term; ergo, "liberals" is a catchall until, perhaps, one day when those who are supposed to be "credentialled" (ergo, "expert") figure out what madness they have unleashed upon us all, including the safety of their own households.
However, the leaders of the "agenda" of the left are fully cognizant of what they are leading others into. Example: When I posted my first response in re the counter-demonstration -- I wished to praise the protestors for their artistic "Guernica" representation in the street. On a personal, artistic level, it was well done, well executed. Personally, I enjoyed it. But I had to laugh.
From "their" point of view, the representation was more than likely seen as a "dove of peace".
I saw it for what it really was: Flipping the bird. (artistically, and oh so clever). Out of context, it is one thing. In context, it's a whole "nother" matter.
The liberals claim to see the "big picture" but they don't. They see life as one big subjective stretch.
Their comprehension of "other" (inter alia) only seems, usually, to extend to class lawsuits and forcing law via judicial activism.
Lastly, in re the protest: It's the same "ism" used always and always:
Enter the list: If it's happening to one woman...
If it's happening to one minority...
By which they use, always, to tyrannize the majority.
But are so silent now:
Instead.. I can already hear the drumbeat.. very quietly running behind this current scene...
You can bet your sweet bippy there's another shoe coming from the left.
One can almost be accused of prescience, once one sees the pattern of the left in how they communicate and how they politicize their madness.
PP posted here, probably in payback to what gbwife tried to post at DU.
And, the liberals laugh with each other over "coups". That's the game.
The question is: How can one liberal witnessing another liberal pulling a coup trust that other liberal? What kind of trust base is built? There can't be one. The trust therefore lies at the level of "clique" -- fitting in. As the elevation in gaming accelerates, people discreetly fall away from the group.
I don't think the liberal leaders have done much study of "group dynamics"; perhaps only a cursory study.
Nah -- you don't have to read all this, or respond; but thanks for letting me air it.
I think I need to clean my glasses.

We're so clever that we can't just say, "We don't see the pictures!" That would be boring ...
Yours: According to "pp," her group outnumbered our group 30 to 1, but she was askeered of us. Golly, we must be really strong looking folks to make "pp" think that one of us could take 30 of them.
LOL! Well, lol, let me help you out here, according to the Lores and Myths manual of the Liberals: even the youngest conservative, Christian, and/or Republican child is armed to the teeth with AK-47s, and a nuclear bomb in every diaper bag. We conservative mothers breastfeed our babies on plutonium and uranium. We serve them dirty water to make 'em acquire early immunity; and we feed 'em dirt for meals to help them acquire durable "linings".
tgslTakoma? The liberals terrorize themselves with their imagery and stereotypes. And we show up? They think its a secular apocolypse. Given PP's portrayal. What PP wrote is simply not true or what happened. HOWEVER, you can't convince someone who sees themselves as a perpetual victim, that they are not.
I tried to read PP's piece as an activist work; or even a spin job -- true believers on the left will believe it and because they all worship at the same shrine; but it just comes across as.. "a person in very strong need of help". Yep, you read it here: I read PP's piece as a signal for help. An SOS.
And that's why these two are the way they are!

As for Medea Benjamin, there's not much that can be done to ameliorate her situation.
You are right -- there isn't. Long ago she involved herself with some matters, and now she's trapped inside the Freddy Krueger body of it. Timing, place, person -- it goes from there.
Early on, I was standing with my sign by the side of the road. I was watching the protestors marching down the street and in line to be searched for entrance to the park. My hand was shaken. I turned, and Medea was there, introducing herself and thanking me for my civil sign -- in that it was not nasty. I told her I was glad to meet her face to face. And that while we most certainly disagree, there's no reason she and I couldn't be civil. And, I went on: That there was something I truly wished to communicate to her, personally. That our men in women in the military aren't robots. These are bright souls who not only have independent thoughts but have been affirmed in their mission -- that not only do they believe in the mission -- they are enacting and witnessing MIRACLES in the middle-east. And I hoped she understood that her while her activities hurt them -- these also served to galvanize them. Forge them. She took this in. Conversation faded at that point, and she went away. Mind you, I'm recounting days after; and I know there are some who would not have said what I did. And I'd like to briefly explain this:
I strongly support not only Free Speech but the right to free association. I strongly agree with civility -- My opponents do not. They are the "adhominen-via-politics" wranglers, and the big time advocates of lawsuits -- which stifle civil dissent and civil disagreement. Do I know about her politics? Full bore. I could add some details. The left is frightened, terribly frightened of the right. Part of the reasoning of the left is that if they cave to "civil dissent", the right will win. Liberal ideas have gained coinage over the past 30 years; but as those results filter down to the local level, civil dissent has arisen. And, it is resulting in some areas of the country where people can't even put "vote for Bush" stickers out or on their cars. All this type of hoodlum activity does, is grow more patriots. I don't wanna censor the left. But I do think they need to grow some brain cells in figuring out that they are encouraging, massively, the reduction in their own followers while encouraging the growth in others. Most people, especially Americans, just don't buckle easily. Get in their face, and they are gonna grow a couple and bring 'em full bore to the offender. Call someone a racist just to get out of debating something; that person is either going to ignore you, expose you, or get in your face.
Liberalism got its stronghold back years when they WERE civil and when they WERE promoting ideas -- instead of ad hominems, and Ph.D. level masturbatory language sets that everyone can see through.
Code Pink wrangled into CA's "total recall" election -- perfectly timed, launching political hand-grenades -- but shout from the rooftops: Stop the Bombings!
People see through this.
The "burning bed" visual applies here: You can only stifle people for so long, before they stand up and make themselves heard. This line of thinking isn't reserved for feminists or battered women: It applies in society AT LARGE: A people so battered, will rise up. And that's what has happened through how many years of bullying in the classrooms, the courtrooms, and in our halls of governance -- by Politicians, Feminist Law, Race Law, gay law -- your side has pushed too hard. You have battered the people of America.
And they are burning the beds of their batterers and censors and oppressors.
I wished the left understood that their own "policies" have spread into a weapon the left now claims to disagree with.
Americans usually work hard in living their lives. They are a diverse lot -- and sometimes they make mistakes. But if there is one thing that is absolutely true about America, and Americans -- through slavery, through discriminations, through civil war -- Americans don't like injustice nor oppression. The true face and nature of "America" is rising. It has risen.
And I've only big thanks to the liberals and Democrats for waking up that "don't tread on me asp". Americans are indeed regaining their abs and quads.
There were about 1000-1200 protestors and 200-250 of us. They had an entire park (at least 10 acres) to protest in, plus a parade route, and we had a strip of grass across the street about 20' X 200'. They had a bandstand, stage, barbeque pits, picnic tables and porta-potties.
They were there to protest the soldiers and we were there to protest them. They had a freak show of communists, GreenPeace, and gays and lesbians. They had bands, a drum corps and lots of yelling. We had a purpose! They also planted at least 2 of their village idiots on our side to cause trouble. It was obvious that they didn't belong with us, and they wound up getting arrested.
There were about 75-80 police officers there, some from surrounding counties, and also an ATF K-9 unit. They were all searched and sniffed by the dog prior to entry into the park, but none of us were even looked at by the police. The police also had their backs to us the whole time, while watching them.
We were an enthusiastic crowd, who were mostly in there 30s and 40s, only a few of us Viet Nam vets were in attendance. About half the protestors were bussed in, as there were 7 busses that held over 60 people apiece. The personnel from both Pope AFB and Ft. Bragg were given standing orders to stay away from the protest area. I found that out from some of the military wives. Thanks to Free Republic, because without their local chapter, there would have been no counter demonstration. Also our thanks to about a dozen Rolling Thunder members who participated.
Take care, Zak.
Rolling Thunder folks are outstandingly excellent! I know my first time out here was quite an eye-popper. A friend of mine is such a biker; she took me out on the town in Fayetteville. Every single biker bar we went to? NOTHING BUT BUSH-CHENEY STICKERS EVERYWHERE! I'm from the west coast, I was in Hog Heaven! :>
Strong, healthy, whole, wholesome, happy. What beautiful babies.
They are basically communists so the group means more than the indivivdual.
We are more worried about what is right, that's why you see solitary Freepers protesting the moonbats at local anti-war "vigils".
I'll thank her when she stops saying nasty things about the USA and our troops.
I'm glad you aren't holding your breath for that. You do great work, Dr. Raoul - a master at the mike. Basic core tenant of liberalism is to take a minority "one" and stretch the hide to cover "all". Therefore, if there are 40 anti-military military... it will read out from the left as "millions". A per your earlier post. It's just part and parcel of the "trinity" of the left. The numbers walk on water and turn water into whine...
But radioactive ...
I'm sure your children would go nuclear if ever given the microphone for a radio. Yes, indeed, I do. What would come out of their mouths would be pure joy, and then, well, liberals would curl up and go away... See what I mean? :)
