Terri Schiavo: 'I Waaaannt [To Live]'
Newsmax via Hannity ^ | Mar 18,2005 | Newsmax Staff

A mentally disabled woman whose court ordered starvation-execution began Friday attempted to contradict her estranged husband's claim that she wants to die hours before her feeding tube was disconnected, an eyewitness is claiming.

Barbara Weller, an attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents, told reporters Friday afternoon that during her visit earlier in the day she told Ms. Schiavo:

"Terri, if you would just say, 'I want to live,' - all of this will be over."

According to pro-life activist Randall Terry, who recounted the scene to radio host Sean Hannity, Schiavo tried desperately to repeat Weller's words.

"'I waaaaannt . . .' Schiavo allegedly said, in a prolonged yell that had police stationed nearby running into her hospice room.

"She just started yelling, 'I waaaannt, I waaaannt,'" Terry said, according to Weller's account.

At that point police ejected Weller, he said.

I recalled seeing a picture (I wish I wasn't on so many ping lists) about a week or so ago. They held up the entire device used to feed her. It looked more like a techno-savvy funnel than a tube.

"How many times do you think he brought flowers to the one in the wings though? It appears the one in the wings is covered in Terri's roses now."

The roses' thorns are dipped in blood.

What are you talking about? Jeb has already stepped in and saved her life once, they are plenty of Republicans that are taking significant political risks as we speak to intervene and somehow solve this. We still have to work within the rule of law, this isn't the Clinton adminstration.

Don't kid yourself, right now the majority of the public does NOT support this intervention by the GOP, because most people still consider this case to be as how the media portrays it. Only we they dig deeper do they start to learn other facts that raise their eyebrows and how they would classify this, and even than many still say the GOP should stay out.

Please refrain from kicking and spitting on those who are trying to do what you scream for.

Consider that Terri had not had the luxury of therapy, new age or old age, during the tens of years that Michael would not let her out! She is perfectly capable of going outdoors or traveling, but, mr. michael control won't allow it. She might get better.

Shhhh! We're not supposed to know. Michael et al work hard to portray her that way and work equally hard to make sure no one portrays her any differently, ie as she is.

Welcome to FreeRepublic.

If you haven't seen it, here's a video that will deepen your conviction. Terri is a very special lady, with parents who love her and want her home. She is not a vegetable.

It is sad you had to go out of your way to learn the facts, for every one like you, there are a thousand that just swallow the greasy media tripe without stopping to taste or chew.

Welcome.

It's amazing she has done as well as she has without the therapy. That in itself stands as solid testimony to her will to live.

Feedings tubes don't have to always be in their throats.

Okay, thanks; then if this is true, and I don’t know if it is, it should end the issue. Hopefully this can be confirmed.

I don't know what to think right now. I saw the lady lawyer in the news conference talk about how she heard Terri trying to talk, but kinda dismissed it as a likely self-serving "I just saw the Virgin Mary in my oatmeal" interpretation. But the more I read about Judge Greer, the more I am suspicious. It comes across as being as much about his pride as anything else at this point, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. That's why I am asking for any proof that he has banned audio or video tape.

Terri's tube was inserted in her abdomen. It has a cap. She only needs a tube inserted when she is receiving nourishment. Medicine had way more innovative tricks up its sleeve for Terri, but Michael didn't want her to try them. She may have gotten better.

The judge doesn't ban anything. The judge rules the way the guardian wants it. The guardian in this case is Michael, and that is how the law says it goes. The problem is that Michael was not removed as the guardian due to the conflict of interest what with having the fancy new slut and all.

I do agree that Jeb Bush did react the last time we had a Schiavo crisis. But wasn't that after she was near death because the tube had already been pulled?? Why do these politicians wait until the last minute? They should have serious plans in place for the moment the rogue judge rules for death. That is not the case this time once again. These politicians prefer to do nothing unless they're forced to because their voting base is demanding it. Like Hannity basically said to DeLay was on today talking about leading the charge to do something: That's all well and good that the Dems are stonewalling, but I want to know what you and the GOP will do now so she lives. Period. Results baby. Save her life or risk your political careers. That led to this as a good start.

Don't mince words, now!

Michael is the guardian according to the letter of the law. That conflict of interest may be the key flaw in this whole case.

The media has kept his second family and common law wife hidden. I think if more people were aware of it they would realize that he has no business making decisions for a woman he no longer is 'married' to.

Thanks for the clarification.

Perhaps what needs to come out of this are more guidelines on what proof is needed before someone can pull the plug when their is a family dispute as to the condition and no living will. Based on the totality of the evidence, I am having a hard time understanding how it can be considered that he's acted and is acting in her best interest.
