A spokesperson for Michael Schiavo says Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed Friday with Michael in attendance.
He says a prayer service was held first, and that Michael was emotional and crying, saying he wanted to put the situation behind him.
Terri Schiavo's parents, the Schindlers, visited with Terri Friday morning, prior to the tube's removal.
Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Judge George Greer denied two U.S. House of Representative emergency motions Friday, which allowed the tube's removal.
The first motion was to intervene in the case for the House Committee on Government Reform and the second motion was to push the date back nine days so it could conduct what it calls a field investigation concerning the healthcare of Schiavo.
A neurologist appeared at Terri Schiavo's Pinellas Park hospice center Friday with a TV screen to show video of patients he treated that were in worse condition than Schiavo and got better.
And risk losing the insurance money, or her recovering and telling stories??

The brain wills to live. It's called survival instinct. Wasting away because of poison caused by organ failure is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT than an otherwise healthy human body.

My only consolation in all this is the hope that Michael Schiavo will rot for all eternity in hell when someone decides his life is no longer worth living.
Who else becomes a candidate for the Terri treatment? What if we decide, for the good of mankind, to accelerate the defeat of recessive genes, for example? Where does this STOP?

You know, I have a collection of little ceramic dishes from the "turn of the century". They look like little china Alladin's lamps with a long spout and an handle. I use them to dispense pancake syrup, but I enjoy asking my guests what they think they were originally intended to do.
No one can ever guess their original purpose. Well in the 1850s and 1900s, and probably long before, they were called "invalid feeders" and they were used to give liquid food (soup, broth, etc.) to people who could not eat normally because they were too sick, too weak, or had no teeth. Every home had one, and many china companies made them to match the regular dishes.
They are a lot like a feeding tube, if you think about it, except they would require a nurse to dispense the food because someone would have to hold the person's head up while you carefully inserted the spout into the the patient's mouth. They were common in any home where an elderly relative lived.
Of course you don't see them any more because you don't see the elderly, or incapacitated anymore. We just kill them when their insurance expires nowadays. /sarcasm

If Terri dies at Michael's hand, then Michael's life should be hounded just like those who perform abortions. "Put this behind him?" That will NEVER happen.
I have never understood the concept of death being dignified. Especially a slow death by dehydration/starvation. I think death with dignity is one of those buzzwords that make people feel good but don't mean much.

Terri awarded $250,000 in malpractice settlement; Terri awarded $1.4 million in malpractice trial;Michael Schiavo awarded $600,000 in malpractice trial. The suit alledged Dr.s misdiagnoses her initial illness.
At the trials MS said she was responsive and could be rehabilitated and expected to live 41 more years. The money was not awarded to a woman in a vegitative state with no hopes of recovery. They don't award dead people money.
Well....I am not that calm. But I am working REAL hard on....accepting God's will. Not my will. But God's will. If it is His will that Terri lives, she will live. If it His will that He wants Terri to come home, then she will come home to Him.
Whatever our Father in Heaven's will is going to be, it seems to me that those of us of faith should make sure we don't cannibalize each other FIGHTING for what WE want-----when we should be fighting for what our Father in heaven wants.

yeah, but he is a liar. He also said she is just going to take a little nap and be with God. Today, he said that he just wants to put this behind him. I think that means that he wants to put her out of his misery.
