ORGEON'S DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSMAN EARL BLUMENAUER VOWS TO KILL THE FEDERAL BILL TODAY

http://www.10tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3101286

March 20, 2005

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. As Republican lawmakers scramble to pass legislation in an attempt to preserve the life of a brain-damaged woman, one Oregon congressman is doing all he can to stop the bill.

The emergency measure, which passed the Senate today, would allow Terri Schiavo's (SHY'-vohz) parents to take their case to a federal judge and take Schiavo's fate out of Florida courts. Judges there had ordered her feeding tube removed.

But Oregon's Democratic Congressman Earl Blumenauer says the measure is immoral because Schiavo made it clear to her husband that she would not want to live in a vegetative state.

He is organizing the opposition to the measure, which comes before the House on Sunday afternoon. One-third of the members present need to vote "No" to ensure that the feeding tube is not put back in.

"The ongoing starvation of Terri Schindler Schiavo should be a disturbing reminder of what an out-of-control judiciary can do when the executive and legislative branches of government are slow to deal with it. Having come this far, both branches must boldly step forward and use the fullest extent of their powers to counter-balance this tyrannical judiciary." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43391

It's clear. Greer is part of a long line of judges who have snubbed the Constitutional protections. I have concern that the executive and legislative branches are once again giving too much power to just one more judge. What if the next one rules against Terri? Are these judges a god in whom we entrust all judgment? The founding fathers intended the judiciary to be the weakest branch, yet today it is exercising itself as the strongest.

Patrick Brady says, "Thomas Jefferson greatly feared an independent judiciary, and it came into existence only with the understanding that it would be the weakest branch with the primary purpose of protecting the will of the people from excesses of the other branches. Today the judiciary is the most powerful branch of government, divorced from and indifferent to the will of the people. Worse, it is engaged in the destruction of the values of our founders and their founding documents." http://www.cfa-inc.org/oldglory/ogn_jan_04frontlines.htm

Oregon's Democratic Congressman Earl Blumenauer says the measure is immoral because Schiavo made it clear to her husband that she would not want to live in a vegetative state.

Why doesn't Blumenauer suggest to his constituents (in "Right-to-die" Oregon) that they could

  1. cut-out the costly medical middle man (the physician) and
  2. leave their greedy spouses a few more dollars
if they opted to peacefully starve themselves to death instead of involving doctors in their deaths.

Physician assisted suicide would only be "necessary" in the most extreme cases.

THERE MUST BE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES FOR FALSE REPORTING.

No, there is not, not under New York Times v. Sullivan. It's "let the reader beware" in American journalism. Many media people are ignorant of the pertinent details of many cases.

This is from Blumenauer's website. He is the Portland liberal who usually wear bow ties. Apparently, people in Portland have absolute faith in this man. He strongly supports assisted suicide. Could this be a way to increase family inheritances by pushing for "end-of-life" choices?

Congressman Blumenauer speaks out on the "Incapacitated Persons Act of 2005"

On Wednesday, March 16th the “Protection of Incapacitated Persons Act of 2005” (H.R. 1332) was brought to the floor as a suspension bill without going through the committee process. This bill sets a dangerous precedent, overturning the rights of individual citizens and voters, and could ultimately undermine Oregon’s Death with Dignity Act, approved by Oregon Voters twice, in 1994, and 1997.

How can the people of Portland be so fooled?

"The abuse and negligence he (Michael Schiavo) has engaged in as a guardian is outrageous and he has partnered with the judge to do this---what kind of a man is he. The U.S Constitution protects life of human beings being taken by other human beings needlessly”, Delay said."

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! Delay gets it absolutley right!!!!! And he called Greer a SWAMP JUDGE!!! LOL!!!

As we continue to call Washington, let's also urge for GREER's arrest for violating the Congressional order and reinserting Terri's tube!

Thank you for the ping!

No! Verbally and he only remembered this after he won the million dollar law suit at which he had said he wanted to care for her for the rest of his life.
