Dan Rather enters the CBS broadcast center for his last scheduled broadcast of the 'CBS Evening News' March 9, 2005 in New York. Tributes to the 73-year-old newsman were mixed with sniping after his final months were marred by a reporting scandal that tarnished his reputation. REUTERS/Chip East

Oh yes, I saw it alright. As BigSkyFreeper said above, the only good thing I saw tonight was that film footage of Dan getting beaned at the 1968 DNC convention in Chicago.

LOL!! It's kinda neat being able to watch the evening news at 4:30 in the afternoon on a New York City affiliate on my satellite dish. I'm able to view the networks in 3 cities: NYC, Denver and LA. I always watched NBC, I've never watched CBS. With the 3 cities, I can timeshift. During NFL football I can sometimes choose between six games.

"Plus...I believe that Rather will STILL be doing something on CBS. TOO many Liberals still trust him......."
CBS said long before the phony Texas Natinal Guard story
that Rather would retire as Anchor in Mar 05
BUT still be a reporter for CBS.

I thought I was giving myself a 30 minute pad by saying the vid would be up
nlt 7:00 pm, forgetting that the segment was the last to be aired, which actually gave me 1 minute to meet my self imposed deadline.
I did it in 10.
There is a couple of instances where what looks like a producer (female in a blue/purple sweater) is "encouraging" the assembled crowd to participate with a little more enthusiasm.
Video...
Buh bye, Dan

News junkie that I am, I think I'd love that! Our cable company (Cox Communications) is pretty good and trouble-free, I doubt that we'll be switching anytime soon. If we move somewhere else, though...
Dumb question: Do you have trouble with your satellite dish reception during bad weather?

Only time I've lost reception of the satellite signal is during torrential downpours. It's never skipped a beat during heavy snowstorms though.

Full disclosure: There was a promo for several commercial products (see bs news sponsors) in the middle of the segment that I edited out.

In the End Rather and CBS won.
Rather never said the Texas National Guard Story was phony.
He never was fired by CBS
Months before the Texas National Guard Story
CBS announced Rather's retirement FROM THE ANCHOR DESK in Mar 05
BUT he would still be a reporter for CBS.
CBS and Dan are having a good laugh tonight!
AND they got a boost in ratings by the people who tuned in.
AND by the TV and Radio talk shows that gave them free publicity.
PS I DID NOT watch CBS or any other network news.
Nor did I listen to the free publicity on Radio.

I didn't see any of this.
Did he strip down naked in front of the camera, blame that on Bush, and then ask "What is the frequency Kennith"?
Did Clint Eastwood come as a guest and volinteer to pull the plug on Rather?
