Dan Rather enters the CBS broadcast center for his last scheduled broadcast of the 'CBS Evening News' March 9, 2005 in New York. Tributes to the 73-year-old newsman were mixed with sniping after his final months were marred by a reporting scandal that tarnished his reputation. REUTERS/Chip East

...where reporting it all means risking it all...
[But a lie is still a lie, Dan; a fraud is still a fraud.
You still stand by your story that the
faux fax is legit. You risked your reputation on a lie.
You lost any credibility, Dan.]

Sorry if you've already done it...but can we get a..."He's dead, Jim!"
To: Howlin; nutmeg
Thanks for the ping (I thought I was watching it alone). His farewell will finally get the numbers he didn't get for the past seven years.
I understand there will be another farewell/special at 8:00 p.m. and doubt Conkrite and his other associates who have been less than complementary, will appear.
Well well he didn't shed a tear and his parting was not memorable.

I am glad I didn't take that bet. He did, indeed wish "courage." "Courage" to the soldiers and the tsunami victims and the oppressed and his colleagues in dangerous places and his viewers.
Oh, and we had an entire national newscast WITHOUT ONE PICTURE OF PRESIDENT BUSH!
To: onyx
Ahhhhh Ha Ha...
*** Did you see the 1/2 second flash at the end there a producer was running frantically to round up the people to clap and surround Dan...?????? ***
I bet that was not suppose to go on......... :-0

Good post!.
I have been watching his broadcast today....he spent the first half attacking Bush policies .
AND NOW HE JUST SIGNED OFF!!!!!
HE'S DONE!!!
NO MORE COMMIE DAN RATHER!!!!
WOO HOO THE PUNK IS GONE!
He even used that pathetic COURAGE line.......YET HE DID NOT HAVE THE COURAGE TO STATE HOW WRONG HE WAS TO PUSH FORGED DOCUMENTS IN ONE OF THE BIGGEST CASES OF JOURNALISTIC FRAUD IN US HISTORY!!!
The man committed a felony and a federal offense in an attempt to lie his democrat pals into office.
HIS ONLY LEGACY IS ONE OF A PATHETIC LIBERAL HACK!!!
To: mainepatsfan
To: Howlin
FYI: Crissy on HARDBALL is going to discuss if he is "targetted by right wing conspiracy" or "just a biased liberal" -- NOW
To: Howlin
We need a forum where you guys can teach us how to do that! yeah. put me on that ping list, please.
To: highlandbreeze

Horrible opus. I had to tune into the last five minutes of the broadcast to see it. At least he held in his liberal tears.
