The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

WASHINGTON - Prompted by new intelligence indicating Osama bin Laden reached out to the most feared terrorist in Iraq, President Bush charged Thursday that "al-Qaida still hopes to attack us on our own soil."

"Recently, we learned that Osama bin Laden has urged the terrorist Zarqawi to form a group to conduct attacks outside Iraq, including here in the United States," Bush said at the swearing-in of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

The president vowed, "We're working every day and night to dismantle (bin Laden's) network and to bring him to justice."

Visit any moderately large city. You will find tank farms full of gasoline, kerosene and diesel. Most have a pretty big moat to catch a tank failure. That is a blessing and curse. The spill is contained, but it is also concentrated in a manner that a fire would increase the hazard to surrounding tanks.

Thanks JP, I saw that post as was more than a little freaked-out by the A41 notation....backtracked and still didn't find out who or what that was in reference to, with regard to the refinery blast.

Amazing, isn't it? It piqued by curiosity....what if the small plane sprayed some crap into the water?????


None of the police from 2 states could locate the plane. It could have been a suicide mission (spray toxins, then crash). Tinfoil, of course.

There are also countless underground pipelines leading from those tank farm areas. IIRC after 9/11 there have been maps found here in the U.S., as well as abroad, that indicate the locations of these areas, including the underground piping. Personally I think that these incidents could be used to "chip away" at our energy infrastructure. It could be that we need to build new refineries and update the existing ones....but there have been more than a few unexplained incidents of this type since '01.

I'm with you JP. Growing up in Wyoming we would have shoveled you know what for minimum wage. The problem wasn't the illegal mexicans so much as it was the farmers who would hire these immigrants for the same wage without regard to long hours, breaks or benifits.
These immigrants worked without complaining about being taken advantage of. This made them very desirable to hire over us Americans. We refused to be taken advantage thus unemployed from the fields.

I'm under court order not to speak about specifics and have my attorney trying to find out what the maximum penalty for disclosure really is. I hate to have to keep my mouth shut in areas where the Gestapo is involved, but I also have to weigh things against the overall security of flag and it's subdomains and also the wellbeing of my family.

Really, I am not left with much of a choice. Here are my two choices as I see them:

1. Do not comply with the wishes of the FBI. This will most likely lead to the seizure of flag and a compromise of all the sites and information online. It will probably also lead to me being imprisoned, I would guess. I personally do not fear this, but I am the sole support for my wife and infant daughter. There can be no doubt we would probably lose our home as a result.

2. Comply with the wishes of the FBI, provide the IP addresses, and count on the fact that I will catch a lot of heat and hatred from my comrades in the anarchist movement worldwide.

Though it pains me to comply with the State in any manner, I have to choose option #2. The people who have foolishly compromised us all will shoulder the burden for their selfish actions. Frankly folks, they know better - we all know better.

Where did you grow up in Wyo.? We had a sawmill in NE Wyo. (Black Hills)until 1993. Sierra Club and others of their ilk pretty much shut down the logging in the Hills. (I won't get started on THAT issue!) Very few of our employees made over $10/hr. Our daughter still teaches school in Newcastle and since we only live 65 miles across the Hills, we are back in that wonderful state quite often. Now that we are rid of Daschle, western South Dakota is pretty good, too.
