Terri's Freepers,
Judge George Greer denied Terri's parents' Motion for a Stay to protect their daughter's life while there are still pending issues in this LIFE AND DEATH MATTER. In addition the Department of Children and Family Services made a surprise visit to the court hearing the other day and asked Judge Greer if they could approach the bench. Judge Greer denied DCF the opportunity to speak. DCF asked for 60 days to conduct a complete investigation of allegations that have surfaced in the form of a Complaint to their agency.
What was set in motion instead? On Friday, February 25th, Judge Greer REFUSED TO issue another Stay because he was "not comfortable" issuing a say to protect a Ward of the State but instead "set a date certain" (on his calendar at least, not on mine) to BEGIN THE BARBARIC, ANTI-AMERICAN, STARVATION-DEHYDRATION SLOW MURDER OF TERRI.
Attorney Gibbs for Terri's parents held a press conference after J. Greer's order that was so tastefully written to indicate that "he was giving the Schindlers until March 18th so they could "prepare for Last Rites." Attorneys Gibbs called this ruling and prior rulings "Hitler-resque". Indeed.
If Judge Greer wasn't LEGALIZING EUTHANASIA in his courtroom, why any need for Last Rites? Greer's urgency to fulfill this killing places urgency on every one of us to lobby Governor Bush, Florida's House and Florida's Senate.
A Judge in America is ordering the manner of someone's death, a disabled woman who is healthy but needs rehabilitation.
Time is short so we don't really have time to get into Greer's mind to see why he is Florida's Til of the Hun.
What can we do?

Terri Schiavo Can Still be Rehabilitated, Nobel Prize-Nominated Doctor Says
Life Site News ^ | March 7, 2005 | Steven Ertelt
Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Despite the contention of Terri Schiavo's estranged husband Michael and courts that have allowed him to starve her to death, a doctor nominated for the Nobel Prize says he believes medical therapies are still available that could help Terri partly recover from her disabled state.
Dr. William Hammesfahr is an internationally recognized expert on cases of brain-injured patients. He has been identified in helping patients with chronic brain injuries from many causes actually leave long term disability, and return to work.
Terri Schiavo's injury, hypoxic encephalopathy, is a type of stroke that he treats every day with success.
"We, and others I know, have treated many patients worse than Terri and have seen them regain independence and dignity," Hammesfahr said.
"There are many approaches that would help Terri Schiavo," Dr. Hammesfahr explained. "I know, because I had the opportunity to personally examine her, her medical records, and her X-rays."
"It is time to help Terri, instead of just warehousing her," he added. "She would have benefited from treatment years ago, but it is not too late to start now."
FEED TERRI - IMPEACH GREER!!
An earlier version of the bill had a better 'exceptions' clause, one that used the new phrase 'express and informed consent'. Both versions have a clear definition near the top that defines 'express and informed consent', and it is tougher than what Greer decided.
The latest bill has a more whimpy 'exceptions' clause. It just uses the same old... "clear and convincing evidence" terminology.
I suspect Greer will say Terri already MEETS that exception. I believe Greer already DID pass his edict that Michael gave 'clear and convincing evidence' to this effect. I'm sure Greer is wrong, but without the new phrase 'express and informed consent' in the exception, I think Terri may still be in immediate danger.
Where am I wrong?
Committee Substitution 2 - HB 701
If I'm right, don't we ALL need to be lobbying the members of the Health & Families Council to put the phrase 'express and informed consent' BACK into the exceptions clause?
Oh .. forgive my innocence misspelling ..just noticed it ;(
He will support it. That's my flat prediction. The aide is being cautious until he has given the bill a thorough look.
That is an issue of concern...can it be changed without going back thru the judiciary committee?
THANKS! its great to hear that felos is having fits!
He is towards the bottom-- me and him-- he has glasses on and I have red hair...
Hmmm
the pic worked when I first posted it....
Now it is just the red x....
DANG!
Sorry...
Florida Legislators Agree on Bill to Save Terri Schiavo From Starvation
by Steven Ertelt

March 14, 2005
Tallahassee, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Florida lawmakers on Monday reached a deal on legislation that could prevent the beginning of a painful starvation death for Terri Schiavo. Legislators agreed to a modified version of legislation previously introduced to help disabled patients.
The revised bill is expected to have hearings tomorrow and come up for a vote on the House and Senate floors as early as Thursday.
Terri's estranged husband Michael is allowed to begin the 7-10 day long starvation process Friday afternoon by removing her feeding tube.
The new bill would prevent a legal guardian from allowing a person in a so-called persistent vegetative state to die by withholding food or water. That could only happen if the patient had previously issued an advance directive authorizing it to be withheld.
Although Terri is not in a persistent vegetative state, Florida courts have sided with Michael and ruled that she is in such a medical condition. As a result, the legislation would apply to Terri and supersede the court's decision to allow her death or the death of any similar patient.
Governor Jed Bush will likely sign the legislation once it receives a final approval. His legal counsel has been working with members of the legislature to fashion the bill, according to an Orlando Sentinel newspaper report.
"If we can pretty much keep it intact, he'll be on board," Rep. Dennis Bailey, a Republican who is sponsoring the bill in the House, told the Orlando paper.
The revised legislation was created as an alternative to a broader bill that would have required doctors and courts to presume that a patient would want food and water unless specified otherwise in an advance directive.
The newer bill, aimed at legal guardians and only PVS patients, will likely enjoy more support.
The new bill would only allow food and water to be deprived if there is "clear and convincing evidence" that the PVS patient had verbally indicated he did not want it.
House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. David Simmons, told the Orlando paper that was a tough standard to meet.
A casual conversation "sitting around the dinner table, that's not going to rise to the level that will permit the denial of sustenance and hydration," Simmons said.
That's the kind of conversation Michael claims he had with Terri and the one courts have favored. They declined to rule in favor of a best friend of Terri who indicated Terri said she would never want food and water to be denied to her.
If approved and signed by the governor, this would be the second time the Florida legislature and Governor Bush have stepped in to save Terri's life.
The Florida Supreme Court overturned a previous bill more specifically aimed at Terri saying it was a violation of the separation of powers clause in the state constitution.
Republican Sen. Dan Webster, the bill's sponsor in the Senate, told the Orlando newspaper that this revised bill was drafted to meet the concerns Florida courts cited with the previous one.

Don't depend on hearsay medical records! Subpoena Terri to testify in person!
