It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.
Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.
LOL--I think Wesley has moved beyond metro ...
This picture is worth a 1000 words. Cannot imagine what it must be like for some of these people to be voting for the first time in 50 years. God Bless the brave people of Iraq and our military who are defending their right to a free election.
Thanks for the thread. I'll watch Fox as long as I can keep my eyes open.
GO E A G L E S EAGLES!
Terry "The Punk" McAuliffe thinks it's the best election ever.
In a related story early exit polling results of the ex-patriot vote indicate that John Kerry is still a loser.
OH YES! Great post! This is such a wonderful moment in time for everyone, and for the Iraqis...this moment is beyond words!
I'm full of joy.
I know the risks. I know we could witness horrific images. I know the MSM would feed off destruction. I know the Libs in our country would smile demonically with glee.
The Iraqi people are Free. They are fighting back with a ballot. They have a voice. We have played a role in that. I'm proud and humbled to share this moment with them through the tears and laughter.
Jesus, protect them. Protect our troops. May this be a strong turning point against those that would diminish the sacrifices that enabled this day to come true. I pray for wisdom in discerning their leaders. That the terrorists are struck limb with fear.
I know what we have done is right. Our President G.W.B, our troops and the coalition fighting beside them, the sacrifices of their families and the allied leaders across the Globe God Bless you!
VOTE!
The thirst for freedom is insatiable, Iraq elections will prove that!
sleuth, LS said it best (up above somewheres, lol):
"If they kill me, I'll just become a martyr."Get it? Those resisting the terrorists are now seeing themselves as martyrs to the cause of liberty!!
Does someone want to tell me again how Bush's Inaugural doesn't strike the "mystic chords" with people all around the world??
Gotta believe that Ronald Reagan is looking down and smiling broadly
What a welcome intervention.
How much blood is on Hanoi Kerry's hands?

"Former U.S. presidential candidate Senator John Kerry (D-MA), an election observer,
leaves the office of Mahmoud Abbas, in the West Bank city of Ramallah in this
January 10, 2005 file photo. Middle East countries are frustrated by U.S. policy in
Iraq and feel too little is being done to end violence there, U.S. Senator John Kerry
said on January 12, 2005 on a visit to the region. Kerry repeatedly criticized the
Bush administration's Iraq policy during his failed bid to win the U.S. presidency
from George W. Bush, who led the invasion to topple Saddam Hussein."
Beautifully said.
ROFL!!! Excellent!
I think Whittaker Chambers wrote quite eloquently about this when he wrote about the deepest human cry and external (political) freedom as only an aspect of internal freedom. Without freedom, he said, the soul dies. This is what touches me as I look at the pictures and hear the stories of this historical event.
BUMP... its looking good right now.
Bump for later, thanks for the ping!!!
