It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.
Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.
I am SO proud of what they did!
Great photoshopping! Your work?
Exit polls show Kerry ahead.

I believe history will record GWB as the visionary that first brought peace to the middle east.....and like Truman, will be more famous and revered the further away we move from his presidency
All prayers welcome. God Bless all of us!
I like that picture.
They are a part of history...who'd of thought(other than Dubya) a year ago, that this would be happening.
That is a very touching post coming from a Freeper with an oomlat in their name. Welcome to Free Republic.
I came home from shopping this afternoon just as Shepherd Smith was describing how they caught the terrorist that fired at the US Embassy. My jaw dropped to the floor, it was so incredible.
After I picked up my jaw, I thought about the dems and how they are always accusing Bush of not having the tools to fight the war and is just bumbling along. Bet not one Dem comments on what a wonderful "catch" this was for the military!!!
The pictures were soooo neat.
BTW, did I miss Wesley Clark? If I did, could someone let me know what inane things he said.
He was on MSNBC the other night debating the war with Christopher Hitchens---well, all I can say is, Clark was smashed just like the coyote when the roadrunner drops a boulder on him!!!!
Weasley Clark:
"If we strike Iran, if we bomb 'em, there's no guarantee the people will be on our side."
Er. Weasley. Who said we were going to bomb Iran...besides YOU and the troublemakers you travel with?!!
L-O-S-E-R!!!
(He's wearing the black turtle neck metro look, BTW)
How about that.
Can either one of you try and get us a screen grab of the video Fox is showing of the drone tracking the terrorists who fired the rocket today.
Why do so many of us feel so strongly about the same things? I have no answer.
If I might intervene........because President Bush is right. The human heart yearns for freedom.......it is a gift of God.
When it is taken away, we are frightened (and the Wall was as horrifying as anything in my memory), and when it is returned, or received for the first time, our hearts rejoice so deeply that we are moved to tears.
And I am in tears now for these beautiful people who have been tortured, beaten, maimed, raped, and had loved ones killed for so long, who are now FREE at last!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, President Bush! Thank you, American troops!
GOD BLESS YOU, people of Iraq!!
Thank God for the vision of freedom in the heart and mind of our President, mystery! We have been blessed beyond measure!
Oh No!
This guy looks like he's looking for a hanging chad.
Damn.... This is big. Did we have elections nationwide during our revolution?
I was listening to some optimists on the news a few minutes ago talking about how this election will have a domino effect throughout the arab world.
I commented to my son that he will be hearing "It's GWB's fault" for the rest of his life as we watch these dictators fall to democracy over the years.
I am glad this thread was posted. Wow. Pretty awesome moment in history. May our Lord protect all. God bless our troops!
Truly an monumental and historical day for Iraq. God Bless America, our Brave Troops and President Bush. God Bless all those around the world that believed and worked to make this day happen. God Bless all Iraqi's that take their courage to the elections today. Let Freedom ring loud and clear through out the world for all to hear.
