TUKWILA The state Republican Party said in court papers filed yesterday that it has found 300 illegal votes and more than 400 that can't be verified in the governor's election.
With Christine Gregoire winning the governor's race by 129 votes, Republican Party Chairman Chris Vance says he now has found far more than enough evidence to persuade a judge to nullify the election and call for a rematch between Gregoire and Republican Dino Rossi.
Lawyers and Republican staffers are continuing to look county by county for votes cast by felons, in the name of dead people or by people who voted more than once, casting second votes either in other counties or other states.
"I expect this number to literally grow every day," Vance said.
Democrats are unconcerned. Their attorneys have argued that Republicans should have challenged improperly registered voters before the election.
Republicans have identified 240 felons who voted illegally. Party workers have been comparing the state's criminal-history database from the State Patrol to a list of voters kept by the Office of the Secretary of State.
The bulk of those are in King County. Vance said there appears to be so many felons who voted in the county that "we will probably never get to the bottom of this list."
He also said the party has identified 44 votes cast under the name of dead people, 10 voters who voted twice in the state and six who voted here and in another state.
Vance claimed the Republicans had found 737 illegal votes, but 437 of those are mishandled provisional ballots. Those ballots were supposed to be kept separate on Election Day but instead were put in counting machines without being verified. The party has not released the names of the people they say cast illegal votes such as felons and double voters but it will have to do that before a trial begins.
Yesterday, Republican lawyers filed their responses to Democratic Party motions to have the case dismissed. Republicans dispute the Democrats' arguments that the Legislature, not the court, should hear the dispute and that the court doesn't have authority to call for a new election.
Republicans also argue that they don't need to show which candidate got the illegal votes, only that there were enough to cloud the results.
But Democratic Party spokeswoman Kirstin Brost said, "There's no proof that Dino Rossi won the election, and that's what you need to show."

She's right! All Rossi did was win the first count, and then the second count by machine, but when humans started counting, somehow he lost! Thank God for humans! More accurate than machines. Remember that on your next ATM visit!
Like the way your mind works.
Illegal voting does indeed disenfranchise the legal voter. This needs to be a major issue in the next election. Considering that the MSM only addresses fictional disenfranchising, it is up to us to keep voter fraud on the front page of the web.
Good to see the Democrats going to the Bart Simpson defense: "I didn't do it, no one saw me do it, there's no way you can prove anything!"
See these threads as well.

Illegal voters cancel our votes.
If those illegal voters elect an mayor, governor, senator or president, that to me is an act of treason and terrorism. Then, our legal government and elected officials have been replaced by illegal officials in massive acts of treason/terrorism via the illegal votes.
Blue is the color of communism now.
Democrats opened this can of worms in 2000...and no election will ever be the same again. What amazes me is that they actually decided to go this route when they (have to) know that the majority of voter-fraud in this country is perpetrated by their own party.
While the Democrats hold these grand hearings and have these great anecdotal stories of malfiescence, it is their party faithful who are the one's actually being caught in substantive acts of fraud and abuse.
The hypocrisy of listening to the self-righteous indignation of Democrats because some people may have had to stand in long lines is a joke. Their anecdotal stories of inconvenience don't compare to the crimes that have been committed by Democrats...who have slashed the tires of Republican vehicles, exchanged crack cocaine for new voter registrations, committed physical violence and intimidation on campaign workers or found last-minute ballots "after" the Republican had won.
Combined with the usual tactics of voter-fraud...registering and counting dead people, felons, multiple-voting, etc...the Democrats have operated like a criminal enterprise for decades. I can only imagine what Republican victories would look like if not for this fraud.
This is exactly why Democrats are so outraged: Even with all their high-profile support and manipulation, they are still getting their arses kicked. They are in scorched-Earth mode because at this point they have nothing to lose.
WRONGO. They just need to show enough fraud was there that the election was questionable. Personally, I think it looks good for a new election, unless the courts there are corrupt.

Their attorneys have argued that Republicans should have challenged improperly registered voters before the election.
Now tell me exactly just how that could have possibly been done?
Provisional ballots. Those were for voters whose registrations were challenged on election day. Some 400 of them were tabulated without verification.

Better blue than true?
Better blued than tattooed?
Better blue than red like you?
Better blue with a clue?
You're right, none of those has the ring of "better red than dead."
Irrespective of that: the assumption (from the Party of Fraud) is that the parties are somehow required to verify EVERY VOTER. That's aside from this new and wonderful vote fraud source called provisional balloting.
Sounds like strong grounds for a full Federal RICO investigation.

My 82 yo GOP faithful aunt in Seattle has been disenfranchised!
Can't help but see the irony. The Dems found "legal" votes. Republicans found "illegal" votes.
