Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all. "He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND. No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time. Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance. That is great news!
My main concern is satisfied.
Yeah, but a great thread is gonna end.....
"Bush Inaugural official responds: Says Kid Rock never booked; Praises star for active support of troops, USO... Developing..."
The extreme religious right never supported Bush; not in 2000, not in 2004.
The religious right may have voted for him in 2004, but it was because they held their nose and did it.
From what I've seen on FR, only Pat and Alan can satisfy them.
LOL! true
The irony would be, if Kid Rock hadn't been booked, but the recent brouhaha brought his support to President Bush's attention and The President decides to invite KR.
Thanks. I can respect this decision much more than dis-inviting.
It's like PETA comparing KFC's treatment of chickens to the holocaust. It's an insult to the victims of 9-11 and to all the victims of Islamic Jihad around the world.
The Anti-Christian faction of FR wants our fight to be against all "intolerant" religion, not just Islamism. I take this threat seriously. If you compare me to the Taliban, then you are saying that what happened to them should happen to me. I say, BRING IT ON!
Well we could all go find another thread to hang out on.. who is in? ;}
As I said before, it was a manufactured story from WND and that guy, whoever he is.
But rest assured, they will ignore this (or outright call it a lie) and tell their followers they 'saved' the Bush Inaugural.
Who was the Reagan Administration Interior Secy who canceled the Beach Boys from the July 4th concert? James Watt? Seems like another round of that silliness.
Actually this is one the events scheduled by the Inaugural committee. It is a concert for youth and is supposed to be in praise of community service. There are several committee scheduled balls. There are also official prayer and church services and a concert for the military, as well as the parade. The President and First Lady make appearances at official balls, etc, and occasionally the others. There are also many non-committee balls and activities. But this particular concert is an officially scheduled event. All these events are paid for by donors.
I agree with you. I'm not a big KR fan, either, but I think he would have been on the up and up and kept it clean.
I like Nugent, but if he were performing at the Inauguration,I don't think "Whang-Bang-Sweet-Poontang" would have been one of the numbers.I feel Kid would have been of the same mindset.
Ah, if true, even better!!
;D
Wrong? Check out my reply to it. This is even better!
President Bush agreed with us in the first place! :-)
I am looking forward to my beach. I have been working 60-80 hour weeks since July and I am exhausted. My inner beach bunny demands a vacation.
I just wanted to point out to everyone that this was the YOUTH concert. I have no problem with KR, but he isn't singing to a bunch of soldiers - he's singing to teens. The appropriateness of him singing at an inauguration for teens ( regardless of how far he strips it down) is a valid question. KR is a gritty man who has gritty lyrics. If this was the soldiers ball I would have no problem with it, but I think those bible thumping squares might have a point when they question him headlining a teen ball.
Thanks Howlin...here's hoping maybe the Twins tell Wildmon to stuff it and do invite Kid to perform at their party.
