No Kid Rock at Bush concert
Committee backs off plan to feature rapper after pro-family Americans express outrage

Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.

"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND.

No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time.

Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance.

Are aware that much of Jesus' following when he was alive believed that he would led an isurrection against the Roman occupiers? They were bitterly disappointed when that didn't happen, but he said that his mission was one dealing with far more important matters.

"Send me a link showing that Senator Santorum, whom I support BTW, said that he wanted to monitor taxpaying American citizen's bedrooms for sexual activity."

Well, he was for anti-sodomy laws (which isn't just homosexual intercourse, btw, but also hetero oral activity). The only way to enforce such ridiculous, Sharia-like ignorant laws is to break down the doors of consenting adults.

Those are indeed classics, but I was kind of hoping to see the Tap perform "Sex Farm Woman" at the inauguration.

Ironically Kid Rock is anti-abortion.

She doesn't appear to be a genius, does she?

"And then there's the Cult of Coulter. And no, I won't post a photo."

The is a growing groundswell of support for the Cult of Helen Thomas.

Please feel free to tease us.

Because they bowed to pressure, that's why. They didn't even care if they were rude.

That's all assuming this whole scenario even happened.

Ah, yes. Thing is, their stuff is more appropriate for the main Inauguration Ball. The attendees at that ball will be of an age to better appreciate Spinal Tap. I fear that the Jenna and Barbara crowd would just find it quaint. We are getting old, aren't we?

I have something and I will say it, whether it fits into your simplistic categories or not.

I say that with all due respect.

We all know that if Jesus was alive today, this same group would be talking about the fact that he hung around so many men and wore "dresses."

I am really confused; is somebody on this thread saying you don't know indecency when you see it?

I have what I personally think is "indecent"(or "unacceptable" as the term I usually use), but that's a matter of opinion which matters only in my house and with how I conduct my life.

The question of "indecency" is who defines it and how specificly is it defined, instead of this gray area we have. The FCC cases of the past two years demonstrate the question.

Being active in the second amendment movements, as well as working in an in issue advocacy department in the 02 elections, I know more than I'd ever want to know about word meanings, definitions, and tricks.

I've seen terms like "Gun Safety" twisted from meaning the NRA's hunter safety classes to "Gun control". I've seen "assault weapon" mean a zillion different things. I've seen mainstream gun rights orgs classified as pornography by AOL in an excuse by them to shut down pro-2a websites. I had to be extremely careful in my issue advocacy job in how terms like for, against, support, oppose, etc were used.

That is largely why I take such a hard line on censorship issues, and is why my guard is up so much when I see anything to do with Don Wildmon or the FCC - and is why I reacted as I did to F16Fighter's post.

Well, having had my lunch ruined several times by the followers of that cult, I have to say that everyone in that cult must be a darned liberal troll and should be banned in perpetuity from Free Republic. And that's all I have to say about that.

HAHA! Whatever! Senator Santorum rocks. Sorry nice try. What he said and what you said he said are two different things.

See- Rick Santorum is a Senator who is elected to represent the people in his district. ( PS- that is why we are a Republic.. you know Representative and all of that) Anyhoo- Kid Rock is a personality and a musician. You do know there is a difference... right?

Sadly no.

Funny, Kid Rock got bashed hard for that song. I don't remember any campaign to defend him. Maybe I just missed it.

To me he's just an entertainer and doesn't speak for my morals of values.

Using that reasoning, they could have strippers perform at the Bush concert because they're also just entertainers and they don't speak for your morals or values, right?

Yes, but Judas and Barabbas fueled what was merely a rumor and NOT the truth.

OTOH, had the Founders abided by "Render unto Caesar...," we'd still be subjects serving King George's legacy, wouldn't we?

The bottom line is the advocates of traditional morality won this battle, and the moral relativists lost. However, this was a battle of symbolism, not substance. I would much rather have Kid Rock play at this event if we could get a promise from the Bush Administration that they would select two or three strict constructionists on the Supreme Court bench and then use their influence to assure Senate confirmation. I hope having Kid Rock withdraw is not just a sop to pacify the social conservative wing as they choose a Sandra O'Connor - William Kennedy type moderate to an open position on the highest court.

If it is their fault, why is everyone blaming the "Bible Thumpers". There is a lot of logical disconnect here.
