First off, as required by the unwritten laws of FreeRepublic, section 301.102, subsection 37, clause D, Paragraph 2 (all threads refering to Ann Coulter must be accompanied by a photograph of Ann Coulter):
The Tri-State NY NJ CT Freeper Holiday Party took place this afternoon and SHE came to the party! We got autographs, photos (they should be posted soon), etc. She stuck around for the whole entire party.
And, GOD, photos do NOT do her justice. She is so much more beautiful in person! Wow!
Likewise.
It was an interesting exchange with Ann. I have the sense she spends more time on FR than one supposes.
She was there for the entire party.
My first reply to #202 was #214, where I said: AHHHH! That's the worst pic of Ann I've ever seen! She looks like a reject from "Night Of The Living Dead"--shiver!
I didn't say anything about NYC GOP Chick, who I didn't even realize was in the pic.
NYC GOP Chick replied to me at #229: I have better ones that I'll put up later or tomorrow. She really is quite beautiful in person. :)
Later at #254, She said to Neets: Holy crap! That is hideous (of me)!
Trying to be sympathetic and funny but obviously failing at both, I said at #257: Don't be embarrassed. We all have hideous photos of ourselves floating out there somewhere. Though not all of us have them posted on the Internet where millions of people can see them :o
And finally at #294, NYC GOP Chick said to me: I posted it because I didn't consider it to be a hideous picture of me. Like most people, I don't really appreciate awful pictures of me -- especially blown up -- posted in a rather public place. I realize that may sound peculiar to you though...
I posted it because I didn't consider it to be a hideous picture of me.
That's not what she said at #254.
Like most people, I don't really appreciate awful pictures of me -- especially blown up -- posted in a rather public place.
She talks like I posted the damn pic. SHE POSTED IT! #202.
This argument is insane.
Gee, I wonder what makes you think that...
You are very mixed up, to put it kindly.
Yes, I put up the pic in 202. But I did NOT put up the ones in 241 -- they were put up without my permission and against my wishes. I was embarrassed by how I look in that post (241, NOT 202), and your attempt to be funny fell flat and frankly upset me.
I've had my picture taken with both of them, too!
Good Lord (shaking head) if that's the worst thing that happens to you then you're lucky.
Well, when you've been publicly humiliated and insulted by someone trying to be *funny*, THEN you can feel free to lecture me.
Please, please, please tell me where I did this. I never called you hideous--I only used the word because you used it first. I'm not trying to be your enemy here, I'm just trying to point out that I in no way meant to offend you.
By agreeing that it's a hideous picture and then pointing out that most people don't have their atrocious pics splashed all over the damn Internet.
I met PJ O'Rourke and Sean Hannity - and for me, that trumps Ann!
Oh and Laura Ingraham - who was awesome!
D
"Atrocious" is you're word. I never said it.
I don't know about "trumping Ann", but meeting P.J. O'Rourke would indeed be quite a thrilling experience for me as well :)
Saw Laura Ingrahm at our FRiva Conference in Las Vegas (she was one of our featured speakers)
Well, maybe banging your head on the keyboard will knock some common sense (not to mention manners) into you.
When someone is aghast at photos of herself, a decent, polite person does not agree and make jokes, but either tells that person that it's not that bad (even if it's a white lie) or just shuts his or her piehole. One doesn't make someone else feel even worse.
Me neither. I've run into celebrities and have corresponded with well know personalities at times and found them to just be regular people...not so exciting.
But ANN COULTER??!! She's great. I would love to meet her.
I'm going to take the advice of my fellow Freepers and say I'm sorry and leave you alone. Good night and God bless.
I met him at a book signing - He signed his book, Eat the Rich
"To Dasher, I wrote this book especially for you, PJ"
But, Laura was so unbelievable! She is incredible warm and friendly. I was very impressed with her speech and her personality really came through.
It's time for me to re-read "Eat the Rich." I also read excerpts of "Give War a Chance" and that will go on my "must read" pile as well.
You were there?
Awesome!
Did you bring your Gittar and your Drummer and play a few sets?
I'm sure you would have done some covers of the songs from Deliverance.
I can't wait for the pictures and maybe some sound bites.
