This thread is for those who got diddly, nada, zilch, zip, zero Christmas Presents this year (or any other year). Come and commiserate. You're among friends here.
And to those of you who offer the beautiful homily, "It's better to give than receive", please take the time to have a nice tall glass of shaddup.
Thanks. You too :-)
Yes, that is true, but who needs 400 of them????
I loved this......
Thank you for the detailed information. I think I will try Netflix because they have all kinds of hard-to-find foreign films.
...socks and underwear.
One other detail I forgot to add: I pointed out that you can rent three DVD's at once (or 5 if you want to pay the giher price). However, that applies to each DVD disc. Not each title.
For example, if you were to rent out lets say the 4th season of the tv show Sopranos. The entire season is on 4 discs. As a result, if you want to rent out this title, the whole season, it would count as 4 choices. Not one. The good news is that you can pick and choose which discs to rent. You dont have to take the entire season if you dont want to.
Hildy my friend has been without power since Tuesday, has frozen water pipes, no heat, no phone, cell phone going dead soon and she is thrilled that she has lots of candles and a gas grill.
Save them, you never know when you might really want them.
Drinking champagne and lighting candles rules on a Sunday night.
My friend lit 30 candles (the kind in jars) and soon the room was hot, as if the candles acted like a fireplace. Nice to save for an emergency. You have to keep an eye on them though.
Slendidly and very moving said, and so true. One does not have to be a believer, to believe in the magic of Christmas, and just how special it is to the kids, and how wholesome, if handled right.
What I like to do for the kids is tell them I'm going to get them a puppy. Then I go to the local animal shelter and ask them for one of the dogs they just put to sleep. Then, on Christmas morning, I go, "Oh no!!!!! The puppy I was going to give you died!!! Must have been something you kids did!!"
It's always a Norman Rockwell moment.
Well the comment, "you are one sick puppy" comes to mind.
The boyfriend's sister got a cyst under her arm and gets to put her dog to sleep.
Cut me some slack! I promised 'em a puppy-dog, I got 'em a puppy-dog!
maybe not in the condition they were expecting, but who's counting....
OH thanks! I didn't feel like looking up the word for spelling! :)
