NBC depiction of talkradio king Rush Limbaugh passed-out in vomit from drug abuse ignited backstage outrage at SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
The animated sketch left one senior production source stunned and outraged.
"Would we have done this to [Jim] Belushi? [Chris] Farley?" the source said on Sunday from New York.
The source asked not to be identified fearing retribution from SNL's executive producer Lorne Michaels.
"We've had more fu**ing drug addicts on this show through the years... more tragedy. I have lost count. Did we ever have some laughs about Robert Downey Jr.'s serious drug addiction?"
The crass montage which aired on NBC featured Limbaugh vomiting from drugs, in an apparent overdose.
Last year, Limbaugh announced to his radio audience that he was seeking treatment for an addiction to pain medication.
Calls to Michaels office went unreturned late Sunday.

Saturday Night Live is still on?
Didn't know that!
;-(
PS.... Rush will ignore this - as he does all of the disgusting attacks on him. He is bigger than SNL. We should all learn how to handle such attacks from Rush.
The skit did sort of trash Al Franken and the left also, to a certain extent. It was kind of funny to a point but a little preachy.
Mr. Limbaugh is under treatment and appears highly motivated. The entire staff of SNL appears to be on drugs for 20 or so years, with a lot of them now room temperature. SNL has become pathetic and unwatchable: boring humor, lip-synched bad music, and poorly written scripts.
I guess he got enough uppers to wake up and salute the President the other day. Just guessing...
Doesn't Rush take a two week sabbatical over the Xmas Holidays? Typically he's gone when interesting news breaks ... remember the early breaking news (Drudge report) on Lewinsky during the Clinton era? Rush was off several days for the Super Bowl ...
It only shows how afraid they are of Rush. Liberals are allowed to make mistakes, not conservatives.
John Belushi.
He'll be broadcasting for 2 hours on Christmas Eve.
And most of America (as we saw in November) sees through this. ;)
And, in its own way, helpful.
The left is not helping themselves with this kind of tasteless crap. Every event like this gives the kool-aid drinkers a snorting high. But, at the same time, it opens the eyes of, and peels off, a handful of uncommitted ordinary folks -- making them conservatives for life.
cryptic. good.
BTTT
I use to watch SNL, but, it quit being funny when Chevy Chase left. Ironic, since he ended up being a Coke head.
Of course, Steve Martin and Martin Short ripped CC a new one in a skit with a big back of white powder one night.
This is not new for SNL. Remember how they portrayed Linda Tripp?

El Rushbo, alive and clean!
SNL has, and forgive the cliche, "jumped the shark."
Hmm. Making fun of deaf people on SNL? Isn't that special......
Don't "rush" to judgement. He sounds great on the radio and is keeping busy with friends and doing many appearances.
I actually turned on SNL last night for the first time in years, and happened to catch this particular bit. I turned to my wife, aghast, at the whole thing. They aimed a few jabs at big-name libs like Al Frankin (an SNL alum and admitted drug-addict himself), but on the whole it was a crass exercise in conservative-bashing. Even putting the scene with Rush Limbaugh aside, the whole concept that people would find Santa Claus telling a little girl that everyone in states who voted for Bush are ignorant bigoted yokels is just unbelievable.
