I am sad to report that Freeper Militiaman7 passed away this morning from cancer.
He loved FreeRepublic and was a local leader of FREEPS in the Roanoke, VA area. He had a FreeRepublic Banner he brought to all our Freeps.
He was a disabled veteran who served his country. We will miss his quick sense of humor and his love for America and FreeRepublic.
I have no further information at this time.

Dave was a fine man and a true patriot. I met him several times through FR events in Roanoke and Washington. His son(a freeper) is in Afghanistan I believe.
God got him a good'un.
We always tell stories in our family.
Dave went to a Mark Warner event in Craig County and introduced himself to now Governor Warner. He asked if he could have a picture made. Dave held up a FreeRepublic sign and Gov Warner grabbed one end while the picture was made. Gov Warner asked about FR and Dave told him something along the lines that FR was a militia or cult or something and Warner dropped the sign like it was on fire. Dave had pictures of this exchange. I'll try to find the pictures. They are true classics.
Here's the obit in the Roanoke Paper
David Scott Sublett, 54, of Roanoke, died Sunday, December 19, 2004. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel. 989-3131
God Bless David (Militiaman7) and may God the Great Physician hold him in peaceful comfort now and forever. God Bless David's family and friends.
Sad prayerful ping.

Militiaman7's son Jonathan ("El Malo") is serving in Afghanistan. He is leaving there on news of the passing of his Dad. Please pray for his speedy and safe trip home.
Thanks for sharing this amusing encounter with us. It inspires and lightens up the otherwise sad news for freepers.

I seem to recall protesting in front of the clinton WH with Militiaman7. This would have been perhaps early 1999. He had a tape loop of "Listen closely, I'm only going to say it one time. I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky..."
I think he was being pushed in a wheel chair with his family meanwhile playing the tape the whole time.
RIP, Militiaman7.
He is healed at last! May he celebrate Christmas disease free forever with our Savior.
MinuteGal is right, AppyPappy. That's a great story. :)
Sad prayerful ping.
May you Rest in Peace.
Prayers for Militiaman7 and family
Rest in peace, Militiaman 7. You will be missed.
Has someone suggested putting his name on the tribute wall here at FR?
There is no doubt in my mind that Dave is walking on Streets of Gold right now. He is home. His family left behind will be in our prayers.
I'm sorry to hear for your loss. Condolences to your family in this time of grief.
I'm so sorry to hear that.
He will be missed.
I will pray for Jonathan.
Sad news. Prayers for all concerned.
