Under state law, the Washington Supreme Court could declare that an election is so marred by incompetance and/or corruption that the election should be annulled and a new special election called to decide the race. It would be expensive, but doable.

I would be willing to agree to this with some conditions:

I suppose this remedy is available for the worst cases, but I'm just afraid it would set a bad precedent.

Remember, we're not dealing with logical, honest people here. We're dealing with Democrats.

I don't usually get nasty and make such sweeping indictments of them, but I used to be a Democrat and their lawlessness is one reason I switched.

Now if a November election can't be resolved until late December then why would a February election be resolved before late March/early April?

Maybe Washington state should decide it's elected offices not by elections but by Texas Hold Em tournaments instead.

End the practice of absentee ballots unless people are truly not available to vote in person.

The "re-vote" causes MORE problems than it solves.

For example, how will those currently serving over-seas be able to vote if no absentee ballots are permitted.

and get a clear winner.

There is currently a clear winner. Those who don't like the results are counting till they get a different outcome.

In a revote without the Libertarian, Rossi would lose. The Libertarian in this race was some way left wing lesbian and took around 6K vote that probably would have gone to the Democrat.

Multiple recounts, each time Rossi leads/wins. Each recount the lead increases nominally...then 500+ ballots magically appear in King County. This same thing happened in the 3000 presidential election in NM...until there were enough votes to bring their desired candidate over the top.
Dems rules:
1. lie, mislead, misinform, obfuscate
2. vote in multiple precincts
3. mail in bogus absentee ballots, Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, etc.
4. when your candidate is still behind initiate a lawsuit
5. when your lawsuit fails try to change the rules ex post facto

Every LEGALLY CAST BALLOT has been counted, that should end it.

And throughout all of this, it remains the FAULT OF THE DEMOCRATS!!! DEMOCRATS RUN King County. They run the King County elections. THEY MADE THESE MISTAKES!!! A DEMOCRAT MADE THESE MISTAKES. Have you noticed that all the areas around the country that seem to have these problems are RUN BY DEMOCRATS?? Florida ran the democratic counties that had all the problems, Columbus, Ohio run by democrats, Seattle, WA run by democrats. Is there a pattern here of total incompetence? Why in the hell would anyone vote for a group that cannot run a simple, free, open, untroubled election? They have screamed that EVERY VOTE MUST COUNT. Yet, when they started calling all those screwed up ballot casters, when asked if they voted for Rossi or the socialist, when they said the socialist they told them what they needed to do to get their vote counted. When answering they voted for Rossi, they said, Oh, Ok, have a nice day. They did not want the Rossi votes to get counted. Only later did the lazy republicans get off their asses and get these republican voters to correct their stupid mistakes. The absentee ballot here in WA state is simple and easy. A stinking number two pencil connects the middle part of an ARROW. The point is pointing at the name of the person you want to vote for, then the blank middle portion, and then the quill portion. You fill in the center portion with a #2 pencil to make a complete arrow. Then you stinking sign the envelope and date it. Then you put the danged thing in the stinking mail. Simple. Never had a stinking problem. Most morons can do it. Apparently many morons can't. Too stinking stupid to know how to cast a simple stinking vote. Stupid A-holes! Yup, let's fix the stupidity of the stupid from being stupid in the first place!

Nope. Rossi won. It's not in Rossi's interest for new count.

This morning marks the EIGHTH TIME the communist 'rat fraud machine of King County and the Attorney General's office have produced MYSTERY BALLOTS SIX WEEKS AFTER THE ELECTION.

The federal government will be called in to combat this fraud.

"I figure every vote should be counted, whether I win or not," Weaver said.

Every legal vote should be counted. They all were, including some illegal ones the Dems got added in on the first recount. Rossi still won.

The Democrats are trying to steal this election and will succeed if they are allowed to keep changing the rules and adding more "uncounted" votes. If they fail in this one, I'm sure there is at least one "uncounted" ballot box still waiting to be discovered somewhere in a janitor's closet in Kings County!

U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee, a Democrat, also took part in the event.

If you look in the dictionary under "Slimy" this is what you see:

Main Entry: slimy Pronunciation: 'slI-mE Function: adjective
1 : of, relating to, or resembling slime : VISCOUS; also : covered with or yielding slime
2 : VILE, OFFENSIVE

"This thing could just degenerate and spiral downward,"

How much further down could it go? It's a mockery now, thanks to the Dems.

"Require people to appear at the polls with picture ID before they are allowed to vote."

The judge hearing the democrats case for going through ALL of the tossed out ballots (not just these 570+) said to the dem lawyer something like: "In future elections is each voter supposed to bring a lawyer with them to the voting booth?" I don't recall the exact reply, but the lawyer said something like "Yes, that would be an option".

There will be a revote. It will occur after Gregoire steals the election, and is recalled.

Abso..freakin...lutely. Been banging this drum for 10 years. Washington State desperately needs election reform, but I believe the only way it's going to happen is by citizen initiative. Really like your third suggestion. Never occurred to me, but it sounds like an excellent idea.

My knee jerk reaction was...yesss!, but I'm not so sure that is the right solution.

I have no doubt a re-vote would result in another Rossi victory, but at what cost.

I was amused at first, but the questionable abilities of the election officials and election workers in KC have left me merely appalled and disgusted.

Election workers do the best they can, but are prone to human error.....we all are, however, this constant "discovery" of "new" uncounted votes may very well demonstrate enough incompetence and/or corruption to cause a re-vote.

I suspect our initiative process will get a workout for the next couple of years.

I've also decided to head for Vegas and use the Greg-wahhh system.

"I'll flip you for it.....best one out of three."

Damn you Al Gore. Look what you have brought on all of us. Nixon may have been a paranoid, corrupt dirtbag, but at least he had enough decency to concede in 1960.

Anyway, this isn't a bad idea really. It'll be the only way the thing can be put to rest. (BTW, Rossi would win in a rout)
