Okay, it's nasty but I don't think it's racist.

If memory serves me correctly, this is the same moron who dishonored the memory of Pat Tillman. Nope, that was Ted Rall. Throw his name and Tillmans into the search engine of your choice to find the vile, disgusting and tasteless "cartoon".

It's sexist and condi-scending....still don't see racism. It's a freaking cartoon. Some on this thread are acting like easily offended, leftist liberals.

One thing is positive, enough of us find this offensive but not specifically racist. It puts women down, but on the other hand, what if the cartoon was of a bird drawn to look like Tony Blair? It's really a political cartoon with the intent to undermine Condi's roll.
Everyone is right, if this had been cartoon of black liberal by a conservative cartoonist, you'd have lawsuits.

how about instead of everyone posting how disgusting this is to them,HERE, we email Pat Oliphant and his syndicator and tell them about it, at his site?
To: Doohickey
What's nasty about it? Many posters keep writing that it's not racist, but it is "nasty" or "vile" or whatever.
If race doesn't enter into it, then it's merely harsh political commentary -- not nasty or vile, just harsh. If that indeed is the case, then this thread should end now because we have nothing to complain about.

Yep, and Condi probably would chuckle if she saw it. Typical liberal cartoon. They are always underestimating our brilliant leaders which lost them the election. I say: Keep it up!!!

I agree MissMan, it's not "racist" (Oh, how sick I am of hearing that hruled about!) but it is so utterly disgusting and dehumanizing that I stated that Oilypant should take his tar bucket, brushes and used wallpaper and move to Paris.

drawing a black person with thick protruding lips is racist. You ever looked at a book, newspaper, anything? Ever see the caricature's or cartoons of sports figures? Rap artist etc?
Get real.

Umm, Condi has big buck teeth. Should have had braces years ago.

You ever seen *caricatures* or cartoons of sports figures Black politicians? Rap artist?
Actually, not that comes to mind. I think the "rule" is that one may not make fun of blacks, unless they are conservative. And if there are any, I suspect that the exaggeration in the image would be on features that distinguish them from other blacks, and not the racial features that distinguish them from whites. (I think it is especially cool - "in their faces" cool - that Condi looks REAL black, and not nearly white like the typical token anchorwomen and Halle Barry.)

It's universally understood, that unless you're an a$$hole, you don't draw black people with huge lips.

Not racist. Well within the bounds of LONG historical precedent of editorial cartoon.

Well, they draw Bush with huge ears and ALWAYS make him look like a stupid "cracker". Why doesn't anyone scream "rascist" over those particular cartoons?

Well within the bounds of LONG historical precedent of editorial cartoon.
Maybe you should do some research on the "LONG historical precedent of editorial cartoons" -- you'll discover that it's not necessarily a very honorable history. Look at those of the 1800's and early 1900's. If you're going to cite the "LONG" precedent, then examine the "LONG" precedent.
