msnbc just came out with the tinfoil. They're saying that there was something peculiar in one Ohio county, where authorities counted votes in a locked down building, citing homeland security concerns. Then they mentioned several other Ohio peculiarities, and then had a good long interview with a reporter from Cincinnati who confirms that "this year we had problems getting access..." leaving the impression that there were irregularities to the Ohio vote. msnbc is going to give this story all the legs possible. Words like "irregularities" and "evidence of tampering" were flying in a very lengthy report.

A Democrat (John Conyers, House Judiciary Cmte) was then interviewed---of course he said "I'm glad you're investigating this." Do you think these irregularities altered the result of the election? Conyers doesn't know, but expressed grave concern. Said if so, there will be prosecutions. Raised lots of questions, voiced all sorts of dark suspicions. "We're not doing this for partisan reasons. We Democrats were the victims in 2000."

ISSUE #116 -ORANGE CSD PRO'D TAX LEVY (ADDITIONAL)
Vote for 1 (With 25 of 25 precincts counted)
FOR THE TAX LEVY
4902 58.39%
AGAINST THE TAX LEVY
3493 41.61%

So 8395 voted on a property tax levy, usually a big issue, and 22931 voted in Orange CSD. 11640 are registered according to the BOE website. That's about 72% turnout (tax levy votes/registered voters). Respectable % of the vote.

(8395/22931) (tax levy votes/total votes Orange CSD) only 36% of voters would vote on a property tax levy issue? Even in a low home ownership district, that sounds odd.

The tax levy says 25 of 25 districts reporting. We'll have to wait and see on this one.

Thanks. That makes the win even more delicious that the Dims didn't have all their ducks (or, w sKeery in Ohio, should I say geese ;-) in a row like the Rovester did.

Just being listed twice does not mean it's double counted.

I worked for years in Oklahoma (ie worrying about fraud all the time) Republican politics. Here are some thoughts from that experience about this. First, I'm not saying that this overvoting couldn't be cheating, but on the scale people are talking about here there would have to be dozens of other, less visible ways, for the opposition to cheat if they wanted to try. Secondly, Bush carried Ohio in 2000. Given the overall increase inturnout, nothing around the state of Ohio looks all that different, and so its no suprise he wins again. Takin 97,000 votes off of either side would NOT yield a normal result. Thirdly, I can bet you that Rove saw the precinct level data a week ago tomorrow. Do we think he would actually miss a 97,000 vote scam? So what are we to conclude. I conclude that Cuyahoga (sp?) County uses an extremely non-user friendly format to report its data, but they have also publicly warned us that there are misleading totals at the aggregate levels. We won't know the truth about my conjecture until true precinct level data are available, but we know that the county has advertised this vote total data as unreliable.

Gov Rendell in my state of Penna, said Philly would have to give Kerry 350,000 vote advantage for him to take Penna---came out with well over 400,000???---no fraud in Philly???

I'm not saying they counted it twice. They have overlapping districts in the list. This is an obvious one to remove from your table.

That is exactly the reason the Dems dropped the issue about counting the privisional ballots before Kerry's concession. True there's no way he would have won. But-perhaps the GOP said "OK, we'll wait to count the ballots...but hey, let's take a look at this unusually high turnout in Cleveland, Detroit, and Philly...hey, where ya going?"

From fact-index.com:

Oakwood is a village located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 3,667.

Total population is half the number of votes cast!

OK, but look at post 91. Oakwood Village has not doubled it's population since 2000. The number of votes is double the entire population of the town!

i'm on board. we have to put an end to this before next election. we have 2 years before the mid-terms and 4 before the general. seems like a long time but that's what we thought after the FL debacle.

Let's start the revolt...

Someone with a DU account should post this over there. We can start a pool to see how long it stays up. /puts the money on 15 minutes

they're already talking about this over there at DU... they think it means Kerry really won the election, doesn't have to stand by his concession speech and Republicans cheated...

Cuyahoga County, home of Congressman Kucinich, if these were actual votes cast, they probably went for Kerry.

Not so fast there. The cities mentioned in this thread are often Republican (Moreland Hills, Orange). High income bucolic suburban areas, with a 2 acre lot size limit. If Kerry has won those areas, an investigation is definitely in order. Woodmere is an anomalous black enclave in the area, and would be expected to go for Kerry.
