Voting anomaly in Ohio results

Posted on 11/04/2004 12:07:46 PM PST by montrose

The Franklin County Board of elections has posted a PDF file showing the precinct totals in the county. One of the precincts is clearly in error, Gahanna 1B, which lists Bush with 4258 votes, to Kerry's 260. No precinct has that many voters, and in fact the "public precinct count" for that precinct (number of voters who entered a voting booth) is listed as only 638. So Bush was given about 4000 spurious votes in that precinct.

I sent an email to the news editor of the Columbus Dispatch and got a reply saying that the Dispatch staff noticed the Gahanna 1B data this morning and has contacted the BOE asking for an explanation. They hope to have a story on it tomorrow.

Here's a link to the PDF file:

Um, if this information is accurate, then we need to know it.

Why report this? The Dems will go nuts and then we will have 100 news stories....."Did Bush really win Ohio?"

Thanks a lot.

What's wrong? Haven't you settled your doubts on the faked documents yet?

Dan Rather still insists on the truth of the documents!

We never should have run with this "forgery" tack. The documents turn out to be real. How can we now claim they don't mean anything?

The White House had the proper spin, that the docs are old and unclear.

We. Are. So. Hosed.

NEXT!

Rummie absolutely has to go. He is under great stress right now (as the architect who signed off on this misadventure) and it shows in his whiny, podium-pounding press conferences the last fews days--such a contrast with the calm and measured Gen. Myers. Generals aren't the problem here--they were ignored in favor of Adelman the Cakewalk King. The 100,000 or so troops on the deck right now were sent out on a criminally deficient plan, designed by neo-con lunatics, and their supply lines are not operating even though they need approximately 2000 5-ton truckloads a day for their reserves to stay even. They are down in some cases to one meal a day. Instead of being greeted as liberators they face building-by-building combat in Baghdad. After they occupy that area the job will not be done, and we might as well rename it Dien Bien Baghdad.

Getting rid of Perle, while long overdue, does not get Rummy off the hook and he knows it. By the time this plays out, it could very well lead to the impeachment of the CIC. Although the outcome is not in doubt, it's hard to put a timetable on such a regime change. All I can say is "Let's go."

Franklin County results are the only ones I've seen available, at the precinct level. Also, as I know the area, they are the most interesting to me. But Cuyahoga would be interesting too.

Overall, Franklin went for Kerry by about 40,000 votes (or 44,000 if this error is corrected). That compares to a 5,000 vote margin for Gore in '00.

I live in Gahanna which is a NE suburb of Columbus - different ward though. I'll be interested in hearing the results of this.

Who cares? It wasn't enough to change anything, and plus, the extent of the Dems' fraud, sleight-of-hand, and shenanigans will never be known, in Ohio or other states. Try Pennsylvania, for example.
By the way, I also couldn't care less whether you're a "troll" or not.

Why report it? Well, the Columbus Dispatch is saying they may have a story tomorrow. Might as well break it on the blogosphere first, eh? Also, it's only 4,000 votes, unless it's indicative of a more pervasive problems.

You should have contacted the Secretary of State first so he could have informed you about how the votes are cross checked prior to being certified.

Now you'll just look foolish.

Looks like the DU whacko's showed up on this thread!

This was posted on DU hours ago, and I am sure if we thought it of importance it would have been here earlier. I guess they couldn't stand it that we weren't talking about it, eh?

Chew on this for an anamoly - straight from BOE: I'm guessing 15,000 fraudulent votes in Lake County. Not even remotely possible that W got less votes than Voinivich and LaTourette. Not even.

sounds like a typo. why would a reported total like this not be flagged when it was called in, so far in excess of the number of total voters. if its in error and they need to fix it; then fix it, and count all the military ballots too without playing games with the postmarks.

Now that DU has reopened, they are all screaming about 'another stolen election.' Also, there is no less profanity on their Elizabeth Edwards/cancer thread than on any other. FR's thread for her contains nothing but prayers and good wishes. A stark difference.

indeed, that the point of having a single standard. its like Florida in 2000, if one party is allowed to cherry pick precincts and conduct a micro-examination of the votes there, while other precincts in the state can't even be reviewed because people are screaming "racism" and "disenfrancishment" - the system implodes.

either conduct a statewide recount in all precincts with a single approach, or do nothing.

Conspiracy freaks? Pop on over to DU and look at the growing number of threads insisting that (a) the election was stolen after all, and (b) Something Big Is Afoot(TM).

I worry that they're going to whip themselves into a frenzy - and act on it, soon, with unpleasant results. The election is over, but they're not.

Punkin, I live in Ohio.
Let me share some information that I really hadn't investigated fully just yet.

ACT and NAACP submitted new voter registrations for Franklin County. In fact, they were so successful that they were able to register 110% of the county - that is a fact, and that is what has brought in the FBI. From what I gather, the mayor of Columbus made some "promises" on AAR that he "delivered" 200,000 votes for Kerry that night, and if they are on provisional ballots, Mr. Mayor will have to 'splain hisself to the Feds. If his county produced fraudulent provisional ballots for Kerry, he's screwed.

See, we've known about the fraud for a while. We just weren't interested in the foot soldiers - we had to shake out the power players who pulled it.

Kerry had to concede cuz Cuyahoga County was only able to pull up 24,000 provisionial ballots - looks like some thugs got wind to what was going on and chickened out. The 120,000 out-of-staters brought in to vote provisional ballot have probably left by now, by the power players in the Dem government have not. It's about to get fun, so hold on.

All those lawsuits by the Dems were supposed to run out the clock so McAuliffe and his Ohio fans could create votes for Kerry. He apparently didn't review the make-up of our courts cuz this was resolved fully the Monday before the election.

I haven't even begun to go into the garbage on how Kucinich probably stole his seat, but there's reasonable doubt he won it fair and square.....

They are only claiming it was stolen because they can't accept defeat with grace, because they have none.
